I installed one last weekend in my '22 JT and it went smooth enough. So far so good I suppose.

I installed mine. Followed the instructions, watched several YouTube videos and took it on the road with a camper to road test it. Wound up setting the gain @ 3.5 for this trailer. It works as advertised. The only issue, my Furrion camera monitor needs a 12v outlet! Anyone relocate the factory lighter-plug? If so, where?

i replaced it with usb double charger on the right side of the center hump, i think some have relocated it under the brake handle facing up

I threaded it right towards the glove box. I can access it by removing the glove box and used it to plug in my dashcam. Of course the dash cam cable runs along the top of the window and down the inside of the right pillar and under the dash to the plug.

Jeep Gladiator Mopar factory trailer brake controller - my impressions and review 90D1EE45-2433-4D0A-8F8A-7BA1C59E7A98
I’ve had the Mopar brake controller for approximately 9 months and it’s been good.
Seamless integration with the dash so it looks factory. In fact, I think it’s been the best choice for me over the Curt wireless plug-in (regularly lost signal while towing) and other common wired-in controllers that were far from factory and always looked bad.
I’ve been towing a 26 ft travel trailer at 4,600 lbs dry weight across the country a lot for work without trouble. Also Uhaul trailers and my 12 ft utility trailer without trouble.
I would recommend it as my first choice.
It’s strange how differently experiences can unfold.

@Gren71 I have the Mopar controller. Pulled a handful of different trailers with it. It seems like it has to be cranked way up compactor other controllers. But it works fine.
I don’t miss the 12V port. And I cannot justify drilling a hole to put it in somewhere. Then again, I only have my phone charger plugged into the USB. What do you need to plug in?

I have an invertor that I use to charge my kids tablets on long pulls with the camper. It only runs from the 12v plug. I had, at one point, planned to use an aux slot to attach a 12v plug but never got around to even attempting it.

@Gren71 what about direct wiring a bigger inverter and placing it under the seat?

@Gren71

I've got a picture of the controller but I can't take a picture behind the dash!

just installed the same controller in my in-laws wrangler. He wanted to retain the 12v and asked for it to be installed here- (photo).

install was super easy and very clean integration.

No issues or weird brake surging with the double axle?

^^^^ This. Why in the world would you be using an inverter... just to plug an AC>DC power supply into it for tablet charging.

Maybe for faster charging than the built in USB ports? But you could easy wire in some higher powered USB ports/hub. But then again, you can only use a very small inverter on the 12V socket, so I don't you're gaining much with that.

Doesn't your JT have the 110v AC in the back of the center console?

Some camera battery chargers do seem to need AC power, so that could be a use case.
