I bought mine off the lot. Getting a Rubicon in sarge green without the red dash was more of a priority. I did ask about having the dealership install the trail cam when I bought it but they said it was impossible. Apparently they haven't learned that if you tell a Jeep owner a modification is "impossible" we will figure out a way to make it work.

Have some JB Plastic Weld for the back panel. Take painstaking time removing that.

Thank you.

So far I've tallied everything up:
Trail cam & components ~ $1020
Inverter & components ~ $330
Auxiliary Switch & components ~ $342
Tazer Mini $329

Total cost ~ $2100 if you include S&H

I shopped around to various Mopar parts websites. Hands down BAMwholesaleparts.com has the best prices.
I already have aux switches and tazer but curious, are you hooking front cam to a switch?

It is the 8.4 correct?
Maybe I missed it, but is Alfa required for front camera install only? I have 8.4 and aux switches already with Tazer Mini.

Appreciate your write up and effort!

I do not know if Tazer can do it. All of us who have done it used AlfaOBD. Aux switches are irrelevant as far as the front camera is concerned. I only mention them because I did them at the same time.
Tazer can't do it. It can only activate the cargo camera feature on the radio. Z Automotive sells a front camera kit for that feature, but it won't come close to the video quality or features of the factory trail cam. The factory trail cam is an entirely different thing.

Appreciate the replies! I already have a harness from Jimmy and wanted my ducks in a row before ordering all the other parts.

And z automotive changed their supplier of cameras and it it total junk and worthless. I had to replace mine and the new camera is soooo zooming in to the pavement you can't judge how close you are to objects and there is no way to adjust it. Picture quality is awful too

Hate to hear that. The camera I bought on Amazon is already on the way out so I was ready to take the L and pay that much for Z Automotive's setup.
