I just asked my buddy who is a Higher manager at Hendricks Dodge jeep Ram in Concord and he's heard nothing of it. He said if it was happening they would know. Sounds like someone was just spatting off some bull to me

Lest everyone forget GM, Ford and Toyota are dumping bucket loads of money back into their small and midsize trucks which Ford and GM both neglected for the better part of 2 decades. Ram is bringing back the Dakota.

So they are going to kill the JT along with 2 door Wranglers, along with stick shifts. The 392 is done. The v 8's will be the new I 6 twin turbo at 400 and 500 HP.
Well I am keeping what I have till I see something that I want that is better for me. The dealerships will say anything to get you to sign papers today. I am too old to fall for that crap. Just wait till it all happens if it ever does. More power and ability is what sells, screw the MPG.

I heard they're replacing it with this. They said width was what people wanted over length ( that's what she said ?)

Trail recon did a video on his channel recently, and did an interview with Jim Morrison. Pretty sure he all but confirmed some form of electrification is in the works for the Gladiator.

This is me when I hear nonsense like this at the dealership.

QFT.

Most sales guys at the dealers don't know squat about their product, and the straight dope about model changes, intros, etc is kept under tight secrecy. And if an announcement or teaser is made at a dealer convention, the manufacturer's NDAs are ironclad, under penalty of losing out on allocations and even loss of franchise. It isn't worth it for them to blab to us.

They already have builds forecasted called the JT2 and the JL2 instead of moving over to the JM identifier. The "2" gives me all the reason to believe it's not dead; however, it might be a dramatic change in length. Possibly a shorter bed that folds into the cab to accommodate the longer payload. Based upon the the rear quarter panels of the Easter Jeep event with the ">" angles just before the bed and the sideburn highlighting the same angles with it's roll bar I think this is a subtle glimpse of what's to expect. Probably the last year for the fold down windshield and possibly the removable top. If they do a complete makeover then I'd expect the Recon EV front with a truck bed and removable panels. And possibly IFS. But don't blame JEEP, it's likely the NTSB and EPA pushing the change(s).

I wouldn't count on it. With the current glut of Gladiators, no values will be heading up. And generally, when a model is discontinued the prices dive even more.

Last week I was offered 49K for my mint Mojave with 7,500 miles that I paid 55K (60K MSRP) just 13 months ago. The dealer stated that the reason being the lack of buyers and overflowing stock on lots. Most JT's are being discounted by 3k by the dealers and Jeep incentives at 3K, they will be competing with the price of new when reselling mine on the used market.

With other offers around 45K, I jumped at the 49K offer. Unfortunately, this did not include the 4K in mods I had into it either.

Over the years the one formula that has pretty much stayed the same, the higher the vehicle price, the greater the decline in trade value. ?‍♂
A little off-topic: Fortunately, should the gladiator be discontinued, I doubt there will be a drop in values. One it stands out distinctly as a particularly unique design, and two, it is basically 2/3rds Wrangler. The Wrangler being relatively prolific means that major parts will be plentiful for a long time. Being an unusual design isn't always a boon - PT Cruiser and Aztek come to mind, but JT manages to pull off providing most of the appeal of a wrangler with the utility of a truck in a well-integrated package.

I'm an admittedly biased fan but based on the observation of how many people stop me to comment on the truck and share their favorable opinions, I think it will endure as a well-loved model whether in production or not. Maybe it will reach collector status in twenty years.

For those of you that acknowledged I heard what I heard, Thank you! For those of you that interpreted I was getting a sales pitch, I already own a fucking Gladiator! I wasn't there looking to buy. The owner called me and told me he had a 97 Plymouth Prowler in the showroom that is not being sold but it is considered new because it's never been titled/registered with 1200 miles on it. I wanted to check it out. I don't give a shit if they make JT's for the next 10 years, I have an LE and am more than happy with it. If it's a 'freezing cold take' so be it, it's what was said during a stop in at my local dealer. I was also checking to see if I could configure a Demon 170, so it's nonsense that any Jeep talk was to influence me.
