White and clear done, grip tape won’t be here till next week. I ordered online and then realized I could have just went to Home Depot instead ?‍♂

Waking up to snow in the air and on the ground last Saturday made me want to re-think this, but I decided to cut a few pounds off the truck and removed the snow plow mounting bar.
Just the bag of bolts is probably a couple of pounds.
Two of the zinc plated bolts had some rust so I stripped, cleaned and re-plated them today. Will strip and plate the handle bolts, too.
Two of them need to be left in the frame because to access the handles means pulling the bumper off. So I carefully removed the bar, the brackets and then put washers and nuts back on those two that are buried in the frame. They'll be there for next fall/winter when I put it all back on.
Worth removing, I think, due to the weight, and a good chance to touch things up and take care of any rust.

Oh, and I measured after removing the plow attachment bar and brackets - it went up 1/4 - 3/8" with the weight removed. Will measure again after driving but it's safe to say, I removed 1/4" worth of weight.
The rust on the ends of those handle bolts was driving me nuts, that's what prompted things, besides the weight savings.

This bar is heavy and beefy -

Last fall when installing the snow plow I had to notch the frame brackets to clear the bumper's bottom rear edge. Time to clean that up and de-rust and paint those spots on the brackets.

It's a serious amount of iron off the front of the truck. Might put the skid plate back on - heavy but not nearly as heavy as these parts and the skid plate at least directs the air, unlike this big bar did.

Couldn’t help it, with the 85+ degree temps we’ve had today it felt like it was enough to dry my sliders, so I went ahead and installed them. Came out great, can’t wait to see some daylight shots. Now I gotta wash the dirty truck to make the color match ?

On board air installed.
Looks super clean. Do you have a 4 way tire inflation/deflation system? They're great when wheeling with onboard air since you can literally just connect it to all 4 tires and let it run. Something like this https://amzn.to/3LztyCv or the Morrflate system. The one I linked looks cool since you can disconnect the hoses. The Morrflate which is what I have you can't.

For an even cleaner set up, mount the brains of that Midland device behind the glove box. Many of us here have. Then you have basically no wire showing until you decide to plug in your handset. Then you just have the single cable.
I have been considering that........one of these days when I get bored I will

Had new BFG All Terrain KO2's installed today. Same 285/70/17's as stock. I considered putting 35's on it, but why? It's a daily driver and rarely goes off road. Yeah, a mall crawler ha ha. I don't care if others look down their noses at that. I didn't buy it for them.

Got an excellent, all cash price for them mounted and balanced. Believe it or not it actually makes the truck ride quieter!
