Pennzoil 5w-40 Euro on amazon. Oem filters from dieselfiltersonline.com. No need to have any more discussion, it's the cheapest oil service by a landslide while still using the correct components.

So again that brand appears to not be "approved" probably because they didn't pay the licensing fees, but the manufacturer "claims" it meets it.
Just like the pennzoil bottle, formulated to meet.

Just sayin the super duper pennzoil is no different than any other SP oils. Persannaly I wouldn’t put any pennzoil products in my 20 year old lawnmower much less a new diesel engine.
It's a hard call here........ A person wants to keep warranty in tact, but also install the best protection for their machinery. In my 31 year carreer in the automotive field we have never install anything Penzoil or Quakerstate nor would I want to........Those oil has always smelled so rotten out of the bottle!!

Yeah, but when you start looking at the facts, you might change your mind. The Pennzoil has better UOAs than a lot of the oils we've been testing.

I've been using Pennzoil long enough that I remember the cardboard cans you had to slam the spout into. It has never been a problem that I know of. I was surprised to see the Jeep Owner's Manual actually recommend a specific brand, much less the one I prefer to use.

That is just an extension of Fiat having a simpatico relationship with Shell that Pennzoil is a part of. Prior, it was Mobil products before the bankruptcy take over

Below, I have listed three different EcoDiesel engines. Mine is mostly towing miles whereas the others are daily drivers. As you can see, the Pennzoil is showing very competitive wear numbers and the oil is holding up better than Amsoil and Motul. As a matter of fact, the Pennzoil is the only oil that is still in spec. Amsoil and Motul have fallen off into the 5W-30 range. Note: I only have 6,786 miles on my sample, which is what I feel comfortable with for my driving habits.

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 (6,786 mile interval)
Iron (26 ppm)
Aluminum (26 ppm)
Viscosity (12.4)

Amsoil EFM 5W-40 (9,100 mile interval)
Iron (38 ppm)
Aluminum (86 ppm)
Viscosity (11.3)

Motul 8100 X-Clean Gen2 5W-40 (7,446 mile interval)
Iron (69 ppm)
Aluminum (12 ppm)
Viscosity (11.29)

I guess I need to come up to the late 20th century. I still change the oil and filter on all my vehicles, even though I run synthetic, every 3,000 miles. IT IS HARD TO CHANGE!

I remember in the 90s, there were lots of quick lube places posting 3000 mile changes everywhere, some even named as such. I've been changing my own oil since my first car, and non of the vehicle's manuals ever recommended at that mileage, more like doubled.

Here's a question to think about.

Ok......you have oil change suggestions for 10,000 mile intervals. Is the oil filter still doing its job towards the end of 10,000 miles. Or is it bypassing some of that dirty oil?

More than likely it is doing it's job if that consideration was taken into the design of the oil system and the filtration media use.

OTR trucks regularly do 25K+ oil changes but that is where an oil analysis comes into play to see how your oil is actually performing and holding up.

If I was leery of taking a OCI out to 10K miles, I would do one change at 5K miles and do a oil analysis with a TBN check to see what life is left and then make a decision to take it out to 10K based off of it.

I am sure if you look around on the interwebs, there is probably already some 10K oil analysis report already out there.
