New Gladiator delivered without side steps?

New guy here... just took delivery of a new 2023 Sport. I got the most stripped down version I could find, even down to hand cranked windows, had to drive to a dealer in another state to get it.

Anyway, it didn't come with side steps or running boards or anything, just the pinch edge with holes where it attaches. One of the dealer guys said they weren't included with the basic Sport package and I dismissed it as lots of aftermarket stuff is available. Then forgot to ask again as it was a long day, and they're closed today.

I know there are other fancier ones available as options and I'll likely go that way, but surely there should be some basic version already there, no?

The Sport does not normally come with rails/steps etc. It may have been an option (I forget) but the most basic, stripped down Sport does not.

Lots of aftermarket options are available as well as OEM take offs. I have a set of Rubi rail take offs but CT is a bit far from NC.

When I purchased my used 2021 80th Anniv. I did not come with anything either. Not uncommon. I bought a set of rock rails from a guy that bought a new Mojave. They were around $60. He was getting something different.
You will find them for sale a lot as others are changing the stock steps for a different style.

Ok, thanks. I accepted it as there are so many available, whether new or takeoffs, but then looking at the unfinished looking edge got me to wondering... and the picture on the Jeep.com website for my VIN shows something there.

What does the Window Sticker for your truck show? What's listed there is what you get.

The stock pictures on the Jeep.com and many dealer websites many times are not accurate representations of your actual vehicle.

It is going to come down to what your window sticker and more accurately the build sheet says your vehicle was built to.

I don’t even think the steps are standard on the later model Overlands and Wrangler Saharas like they used to be, but are now a few hundred dollar option.

Willys, Rubicon, and Mojave I believe all come standard with sliders.

Don't spend much time worrying. Just buy some cheap takeoffs.

If you’re looking for something stock, Facebook marketplace is an awesome place to find take offs. I got my Overland steps for free. Not gonna help on trails, but cuts down on mud and rocks getting thrown up.

Look on this forums marketplace - there are many for sale to fit your needs.
But I would suggest you drive it for some time before making a decision -
