Hello!
We just ordered the Clayton 2.5" lift for our Rubi. We have the stock rim/tire (33's and Falkens). Want to upgrade to 35's of course due to the lift. Our normal tire store in Oregon (Schwab's) has a couple options, but honestly, I don't know what to choose. We offroad alot, mainly logging roads, forest service roads, etc... However we are starting to split our time between OR and AR. In AR, they have a river crossing about every other mile it seems.
So.... what to choose? Something that can handle Rain (Oregon), Gravel/Forest Roads (Everywhere), Snow (Oregon), and Rocky Paths with River Crossings (Arkansas).
Anyone had a similar design issue? Please, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Vicky

I have the 2.5” Clayton RR lift on my JTR. I also live in Arkansas. I have just put on 37” Toyo MT’s and would highly recommend them. I had a set on the JKUR I had previously and loved them on that vehicle as well. Went to Ouray area last year with that Jeep as well as the Ozarks here at home. They are my #1 tire choice, especially if you are off-road a lot.

AT, RT, or MT? I've got my Falken Wild peak AT3s in 285/70/17 on mine. But not a Rubi. Wildpeak RT might be a good choice. Also General Grabber AT3. Wildpeak AT3 in 35s are heavy. Think about an 11.50 by any chance?

Maybe check the wheel and tire section for research. I have similar requirements and went with the venerable BFG KO2's which I was able to get a great deal from @Discount Tire with their price match.

Here is what they look like on a stock height Mojave.

Something something mickey thompson baja boss at.
But with a clayton 2.5 lift which is going to be more like a 3-3.5" lift 33" tires are going to look a bit small with how much space you'll have in the fender well.

/\ Last month I installed the Clayton Overland 2.5" lift on my Rubicon and gained right at 3.5". Two days ago I went from the stock 285/70r17s to some narrow 35s. Side by side the new tires looked much larger but they didn't fill in the gap as much as I thought they would.

Their 3.5 lift states you can run 39s so I assume the 2.5 is solid for 37s

First of all Schwabs has gone to crap since the sold out. I would shop discount tire, they will price match any online sale ad long as it's free shipping. I have ran BFG ko2s for year on other trucks. Last set on my deisel I went with toyo AT3s and they are just as nice. Traveling the passes in foul weather I would stay with a 3 peak mountain tire. I do believe all 3 peak tires are really comparable and comes down to personal experience and preference.

I have 35” Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT’s and highly recommend that you consider them. Amazing tire in the conditions you mention. I also like that they are lighter than many of the other tires.

Do you need an AT for when you're on the road, or are you looking for something more aggressive that is better off road?

The Falken Wildpeak R/T 01 would be a great option to consider. It is available in the 35X11.50R 17, Load range C. Popular choice!
