Service writer said that Stellantis is only paying 1.8 hrs to do the pump swap. On my invoice, it has,

1. CSSMZ461AA Pump-Fuel Injection (N/C)
1. CSGNZ961AA Gasket-EGR TUBE (N/C)
1. 4275086AE LABEL-AUTHORIZED MODIFICATION (N/C)
1. CSGNZ965AA TUBE-FUEL SUPPLY (N/C)

The old pump has 6 punch marks on the top.
The last 2 pictures show the screen on the solenoid. It clean. No particles on it. I must be doing something right.

Still waiting for mine to be done. I am wondering why some people say don't take it in and wait. If the new pump fails, doesn't the dealer have to cover it under warranty also?
AND...the big question: what is the difference between the 2 pumps? I thought by now someone would have taken one apart to see. Maybe too hard to get hold of a new one?

The pump is under warranty.

I asked the tech on what he knew about the new pump. He said that there has been some changes internally. Something about the rollers and the pistons. That's all he knew.

I got the funny buzzing sound after you shut it off now. I had it before, but not like this.

Mine sounded the same, but doesn't do it anymore After swapping that strange silver box....

My Stealership placed the order for my recall parts between Christmas and New Year's and I'm still waiting. I think they ordered all of the parts, they would give me a definitive answer. Only that all of the PARTS have been ordered. At my last oil change, I asked them to inspect the fuel system, they said there was no evidence of pump failure occurring. I'm just under 30K miles with zero issues, use EDT at every fill up and every other LX4.

Done..took them just over 2hrs. Same buzzing sound as before, looked like they did a decent job of keeping it as clean as possible changing it. Didn’t get any other paperwork or stickers other than dealer paperwork.

I had to ask for the labels, and the papers for the manual. They didn't know that they were to give it to the customer. All that stuff comes in an envelope. The tech was throwing the envelopes away.

I got a sticker under my hood and they left paperwork on my passenger seat. They did a messy job though (as you all know already). I still have the buzzing sound, which is normal, but it is a little quieter than before. Startups are a lot quieter than before. Before the recall, my pump sounded like it was being strained and it didn't sound too good.

Just wanted to update. We had some cold weather and I did a cold start in -11f weather (gladiator sits outside) to take my daughter to school. I had it warm up for almost 10 minutes before driving off...I don't know if it's a coincidence but the buzzing sound seems louder now (after you shut it off), maybe even louder than it was before. Also, when I start the Jeep, I can hear the pump engaging with the same straining sound as before. This is even when it's in the high 30s outside. I don't plug it in, but that shouldn't make a difference to the fuel/pump anyway. So I don't know if it was that -11f cold start that I did that one day or the pump had just broken in....but it sounds like it did before and maybe worse in some aspects. I do use EDT with almost every fill up too. Kinda disappointing but as long as the pump continues to function and not fail I'm OK with it.

So I just made an appointment to have my '22 diesel serviced and they said they'd check for the recall and order parts if needed.

I'm curious in my situation - for those who didn't see it a few years ago, my truck lost it's pump with 4 miles on the odometer - when the dealer was driving it to the gas station to fill it up for me to take delivery later that day. It sat at the dealer waiting for parts for 2 months before they finally got parts to fix it. I'm very curious if they will say I have the old pump or the new pump - I would assume that at that point in time (early 2022) they were still using the old pump for replacements, but still curious. Assuming they replace it, it'll be the 3rd pump on my truck. After the initial one went at 4 miles, I've been trouble free, but I run EDT religiously.

Has anyone had their pump go, get covered under warranty, and then still gotten the recall pump installed? Just trying to understand if the pumps they replace a blown pump with have always been the original bad pump prior to this recall, or if they've had the new ones even before the recall.

Interesting that some dealers are ordering parts as needed. I took mine in for battery replacement. They had the part in stock and did the work while it was there. This was just a week ago.

I bought my '22 Diesel back in May 2022 brand new and on NYE the pump went out on me and they had to replace the entire fuel system as metal went through the fuel rails and injectors. At that time my jeep wasn't listed as part of the recall and they didn't have the new pump finalized. So, they replaced it with the same style pump. That last about a year and it went out again Jan 2024. This time, there was no debris introduced into the system and they just replaced the pump and other related lines per the recall. I didn't have any issues even though it already went out and was previously replaced. They actually got it all replaced the same day.

Yeah - I don't know if it's related to the volume of cars the dealer sees or what. My dealer basically said they'd "check if it needed the recall and then we could schedule that for another time." I told her that unless the initial replacement was the new pump, that it would, but I was fine letting them do their due diligence. They're 10 minutes from my house, so I don't care if I have to take it back in later.
