Is it worth getting the options from the factory, or adding myself afterwards?

The aftermarket options for aux switches and the trail cam are not as good as factory as far as fit and finish. Quality led upgrades, by the time you do headlights, tail lights, and fender lights will cost close to factory and you have to do all the work yourself. Another thing nobody thinks about is resale. Aftermarket parts not only don't usually increase it, but some dealers are now reducing values do to modifications. In the day and age of trade in values being determined by pulling up a range in websites its pretty much exclusively based off oem configuration/ original msrp.

I was in the EXACT same situation with my diesel--it was actually my girlfriend that set me straight. When you're spending well over $50k for something an additional $5-10k to get exactly what you want isn't a huge stretch. I have compromised before in these purchases and have always regretted it. When a Rubicon came up with the diesel, trail cam, ACC, LED, cold weather, aux switches, katzskin leather with the top and fenders all in firecracker close to me I saw the price and said "no f-ing way" and looked at others that were more reasonable, but would always come back to the red one. Finally the GF spoke up and told me that if someone else grabbed the red one, I would be so pissed, and that I should just go and get it--and I did. Best. Decision. Ever..........as long as it doesn't break

And God bless the guys that are tearing apart their interiors to add all of the options after the fact. I initially thought that that would be an option(not complex electrical so much, but adding leather seat covers, steel bumpers, led lights, etc), but the thought of taking apart a new truck to do it-and finding the time-would have stunted the process. Adding the factory trail cam or adaptive cruise like some of the talented and ambitious guys here have done, definitely was NOT in the cards......

Leather interior also gives the back seat a flip-down arm rest with cup holders.

Sounds like, given the briefest description, that they are different trims... one possibly a Rubicon, and the other a Sport? If that's the case, go for the higher trim... it costs a lot to add the locking axles and the 4:1 transfer case if/when wanted...

I installed the aux switches in my JL. When I ordered the JT I checked the box.

The two JTR's I am looking at are 7k different in MSRP. I THINK I could probably get them within $6000 out the door with the current incentives.

#1 has cloth seats, cold weather package, tow package and black 3 piece hard top.

#2 has leather, cold weather package, LED lighting, auxilary switches, tow package, front trail cam, steel winch bumper, and black 3 piece hard top.

I dont really care much about leather, thats not a huge factor. But is it worth getting the factory LED's, aux switches, and trail cam or is adding that stuff via the aftermarket cheaper, easier, and better? I know there is a huge amount of headlight upgrades for Jeeps. And I think I have seen front camera kits for $150 or something.

FYI, I do have a 12k lb Warn EVO 12S sitting in my garage that I would probably put on the Jeep. So I guess the winch bumper is a bonus but I also know there are a billion aftermarket options.

Definitely get the LED. It's 1700 add now or 2600 if purchased later, and that's without install.

I will also add that I dislike all the bundling they are doing with options. Some things I can understand but others look like Jeep is piling on for profit.

100% YES on the LED's
100% NO on the aux switches
(Voswitch 800 is half the price and twice the capability)
Leather if you like the black or brown, but the katzkin is same price after the fact and can be customized

The leather was worth getting on mine, it got rid of the ugly red dashboard highlights.

Personally, I'd head towards #2. I have a pretty well equipped JTR, and my biggest regrets were not having the LED lighting, the Aux switches, and the forward facing trail cam. I'd say go for it!!
