And yet the JT has removable doors and roof - that means a lot more steel and structure, a roll cage. That adds expense and weight.
Can't compare any other truck unless you start figuring the cost of making that other truck pass all safety and other regs, the extra structure and connectors and so on.
It actually costs more to engineer that cage into the body and hide it from sight. They all have to pass the same roll tests. A cloth removable roof isn't where the extra casts are.

A stronger engine like the Hurricane.
I think that both the Rubicon and Mojave should come with 35” tires..

But on others, the windshield is also a structural part.
There's another expense - fold-down windshield.

Etorque or Hurricane for sure. I'm good with the 3.6 myself, but if given the option of either of those, I'd likely choose one of those on a future order.

Rubicon and Mojave being purpose-built - I can sure "get" the 35" tires for those.

Lock in prices a bit. Led standard on all trims. Option for a camera under the jeep and front cam - all trims. Switchable always on bed lighting. Heated headlights. A package for all levels to get 35's from factory with a lift, USB C on TOP of the dash with a cover to keep debris out. Washer for that reverse cam. Turn off lic plate lights while in reverse or dim them. hidden hinges, and/or proper painting. No carpets please

@JeepCares

Heated strip in glass for wiper blades. I think this could be considered a critical safety issue. See post #5
https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...-need-heated-wiper-blades.76158/#post-1243084
This right here!
A bit of warmth on those straight wiper blades to keep the freezing fog and rain off of them.
Iowa winters are a crazy mix (not that some other places aren't, not saying that) and freezing rain or rain turning to snow - with extremely wet snow - is fairly common.

How about a washer for the backup cam - once you drive a couple of miles with a bit of snow, it's worthless. Might as well not even have a backup camera since you can't see out of it due to the snow cover and there's no washer for it.
Give us a washer for the backup camera. Pickups suck a lot of dirt, dust and snow back there and I have to literally clean it off after every trip.

I'm sure there are engineers laughing at the requests if we want an inexpensive vehicle.

I have HVAC control without using the screen.
My base Sport has the buttons to control the HVAC but it needs the screen to display HVAC mode, temp and fan setting.

I have the 3 knobs controls (intentionally). Just have to order it that way. I'm becoming more certain that the radio with all the controls is causing battery draw, killing batteries with constant memory running.
Thanks, I didn't realize the three knobs were available.
I'll have to look into converting if my system begins to have issues.

Hello Jeep fans!

We are looking for feedback on what features/options/colors/additions/etc. you would like to see in your Jeeps.
Please leave a comment below on anything you'd like to share. Keep in mind, this might not appear anytime soon but we want to know what our owners are looking for to make the ownership experience more enjoyable.

Thank you!

Jeep Cares
  • There is one option for 35" tires that fit the narrow OE rims. I'd keep my OE wheels if I had more than one tire choice, instead I have to drop another $1,300-$3,000 on rims just to fit proper sized tires.
  • I was just at the new car expo and a bunch of automakers are going to 18" rims on their off road trucks and SUVs. Please, please, please don't follow that trend. 18" rims don't belong off road.
  • Heavier weight springs and better shocks. The Gladiator, like most trucks in the class, is woefully undersprung and underdamped. My Rubicon "off road" truck should not hit the bump stops going over a speed bump at low speed.
  • More seat adjustments - I installed the Seat Jacker on both front seats to make it more comfortable. Even my ancient Nissan has manual front and rear height adjustments for the driver.
  • Two Words: Dead Pedal.
  • In-tailgate storage compartment. It's wasted space and Chevy has a storage compartment built into the Colorado.
  • The LED headlights should have a heating element to melt snow in cold weather if you get the LEDs and Cold Weather package.
  • Stop giving our contact information to XM and let us turn that crap off. The nagware pop-up ads I get on my infotainment screen make feel shanky. I cannot express how infuriating it is to spend $60,000+ on a truck to be served ads on my screen by a company I've never done business with and never will.
  • The little gap between the shifters and the lockers/aux switches would be a great place to keep my phone if it had sides so it wouldn't slide out the ends when cornering.
  • Factory optional onboard air compressor, it's way more useful than a winch for most people.
  • Keep the metal bed, don't go with plastic/composite the way Toyota has.
  • The license plate lights should turn off when shifting to reverse, they glare and wash out the camera.
  • The reverse camera screen needs to be dimmer at night, it's blinding inside and makes it hard to see out. This is a safety issue.
  • I'm not sure if the gas motors have the same plastic oil filter setup, but that's a stupid and wasteful design. The motor-side of the filter housing should be aluminum so it can't be damaged by overtorquing the plastic cap. The filter element shouldn't be part of the filter cap; that cap should be reusable and you should be able to just change the element.
  • Reduce the number of tools needed to work on it. For example, the diesel needs two different sockets to open the oil filter and fuel filter housing (I know the diesel is out of production, this is just an example). Why did I have to buy a whole new set of e-torx sockets to remove my front seats? What's wrong with a normal hex-head bolt there? I'm reminded of KTM, they only use a few sized fasteners and all of them can take either hex or torx tools; you can pretty much take a bike down to the bare frame with about 6 tools - all of which are included in the tool kit.
  • Fix the aux battery bullcrap.
  • I'd love a powered sliding rear window.
  • Basically look at everything a Taser Mini does and do that from the factory.
  • Start-stop remembers it's setting between uses.
  • Exterior temp sensor that actually reads the current temp. It was colder than Antarctica in my city this week (not an exaggeration) and despite remote-starting, the truck thought it was nearly 50 degrees and didn't turn on the heated seat, heated wheel, or window defoggers.
  • A key fob that is smaller than the state of Vermont and doesn't flip open in my pocket and try to stab me in the bollocks. Switchblade keys were cool 20 years ago, not today.
  • A fuel cap retention device that isn't a silly plastic hook that keeps dropping the cap into the paint. Put a little cradle on the inside of the door that the cap rests in like every other vehicle that's ever been made.
  • Keep making wild colors. I'm 100% over cars that look like the colors were inspired by a pre-1979 East German government housing block.
  • 12v DC in the bed as well as AC.
  • Tie the hood into the car alarm, the sensors are already there.
  • Beef up the steering
  • Beef up the rear swaybar brackets that are prone to cracking
  • Give every Gladiator the iron steering knuckles from the Diesel.
That's all I've got, but I've only had the truck about 8 or 9 months.

EDIT:
  • Retro-appearance decal package, maybe a throwback to the Honcho.

I would like to see you partner with some of the small, but innovative companies that make aftermarket accessories here in the USA.

I think Jeep already does this and shares pre-production CAD files with select aftermarket companies.
