@Justinswidebody Thanks for the info in this thread. dealer quoted me $475 to clone my ECU.

So I ordered the kit from Aliexpress but it came with a European power supply. Any of your instructions or assistance would be greatly appreciated. I tried to PM you, but I am brand new here and not sure I did it correctly.

Justin is the man. Longest time was waiting for ALI-Express, they left out the USB Dongle in my first order..... so had to order Dongle in a second order.
1. Installed software
2.disconnected batteries,
3.Pulled PCM, hooked harness up to computer, copied files, installed files on new PCM......

4. Installed Original to its mount, connected clone laying on top of fuse box, reconnected batteries and cycled start button 3 times to pressurize fuel system then started it to confirm no lights.
5. Disconnected batteries and then connected original PCM, reconnected batteries and cycled start button 3 times to pressurize fuel system.

All done ( not even sure if I need the extra fuel pressurization cycle but figure it wont hurt if I just make it a habit anytime I disconnect the Battery) Banks I-Dash showed no diagnostic faults, and I had no extra red lights when starting up.

Even with my ordering error still only $213 with shipping for PCM and then like $100 for the Ali-Express items(should have been less but I had to make two orders lol)..... no trip to dealership and no extra charges to do this...... and now I have the PCM files in a folder on the desktop in case I need to make another Clone.

And @Cascade253

What dongle did you use? I have 1.20, 1.20-67, 1.21-11, and 1.21-14. The software that comes with the tool only likes the 1.20 flavor dongles.

Yup that is it. It is straight forward and @Justinswidebody was a major help. Funny you bring this up as I had another person PM today about it. ALSO just today, I wrote the steps down in a Word doc. Sounds like everybody wants a better running Ecodiesel in 2024.
@Treader or @Madtom would either of you guys be able to share the instructions. I have had no luck yet. Thanks. ?

For those who do not want to clone it themselves... EOC will clone it for you and honestly, the price isn't much different. They want $450 CAD + shipping for the ECU and will clone your stock one if you send it to them. Sounds like most people here spent around $400 CAD to buy the ECU and the tool to clone it.

A little bit more obviously, but perhaps peace of mind for those who aren't comfortable with the cloning process.

I am either doing something wrong (entirely possible) or the Aliexpress system is being blocked by the software. PCM Flash released version 1.3.6 on 3-31-2024. I tried the included version and the shared version others on here have used. Both required you to update to the 1.3.6 version and I can not get it to read the factory ECU. All attempts to update or identify/read the ECU gives the error "Failed to download data from the server (403,13,0) Check internet connection and try again." I have tried on two computers and both connect to the internet fine.

The computer and software are recognizing the dongle and 2 green thumb drives and I have checked the connections about 50 times. Any advise would be amazing! Trying to avoid putting the jeep back together with without successfully cloning.

Someone smarter than me recommended removing all the software and trying it to install it offline to avoid the update. That did work, but I still get an error. “Unable to use the selected interface (J2534 Scanmatik - SM2 USB). Check if it’s connected and not in use by other applications.”

I googled that and saw some videos recommending uninstalling Scanmatik and trying again, but that did not work.

Despite the site saying they will clone, Chris wasn’t cloning them when I did mine. Not sure, maybe at one point he was. Worth checking in with him to see if it’s something he’s going to resume though for sure.

So I'm starting to get everything setup to clone and it appears that I was not sent the software CD. Does anybody have a link where I can download it?

I had 2 green drives in my box, but when I plugged them in my PC they didn't do anything but blink. I'll retry when I get home. Worse case @WVUSoldier217 emailed me his software.

You have to use teh software that comes on the CD, you can't update or it won't work. If you updated you need to uninstall the software and reinstall.

The usb drives are not memory sticks they are a software access dongle. You also need to install a driver that in on the CD to make the dongle work with the software.

I am yet to try and see if the software that came on the cd will actually work with the ECU.

Forgot to add, the different dongle numbers relate to the version of software that gets authenticated, best I can figure out
