Finally made the switch to Gladiator after a long time looking it up.... So now that I finally have the Hardware, its that time to start prepping for the mods, accessories, etc that I bet all you know so well.

As reference I got the 2024 Jeep Beach, Hydro Blue. This is based on the Willy's platform, suspension, rear locking diff, etc, but with tech package from Rubicon, flip sunshade, leather seats.

In that vein, I have some questions, coming from a beginner.

1. Tires - I plan to use this for weekend coutry rides, beach, some light off road, not much hard off road, like rock climbing, mud, etc. So I am planning to swap the oem tires (245/75/17) on the same oem rim for 285/75/17, looking at Toyo OC, RT Trail. With that, just for looks, adding a 1.5" / 2" spacer for the wider stance.

2. Also, I think a front lift kit is needed to level the look,. Was thinking about the Terraflex 1.5" lift kit.

My question is,....Will this work well for my application? and will it create mayor issues with the tranny, handling, sound, mpg's etc (understanding that yes, it will most likely impact mpgs, but not in a mayor way, at least imo)...

Also if anyone has pics of how their rides look with that setup, just for reference, that'll help.

Thanks!!!

None of those mods will mess anything up. The tire size will create a bit of a speedo error but that's about it.

I put Toyo AT3 on mine, 285/75R17 and a 1.5" front leveling kit. It's nice and level, the tires are excellent in many road conditions, grip well offroad when aired down and wear very well.

Good luck with your mods.

Should have no problem at all. You should get your tire size change in the computer though. You can get something like a tazer mini to do that yourself or have your dealer do it, for a fee.
Good Catch...So if I dont do that, will that give some error in the dash, or something like that?

I moved up to 285/70R17's and the Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit on my truck when it was new. That was two years and 20K miles ago. No issues with overall drive or ride quality. MPG went down slightly with the larger tires and the nose being higher in the air. Has performed fine on light duty wheeling trips.

I use my truck to tow do light duty truck things. Fill the bed up with junk, pull my utility trailer often, daily drive it to work, etc. Occasional trips to the forest or out on trails. No issues.

Sounds to me like you have done your research and have an excellent plan. Like others have said, you should have no issues with your plans AND it will definitely give it a new "attitude"

Enjoy!

If you’re gonna spend all that money, I would go to 35 At least. What you’re talking about will look mostly, or very similar to stock.

Well, Im not changing the stock oem rims, so not sure how big a tire can you go after they can have issues. Also not sure about bigger size then needing to re-gear or stuff like that. I do Understand the look will be similar to a Rubicon and I'm all good with that. The Spacers should do the stance some benefit too.

As I said, My use will be weekend driving, countryside, light off road. Nothing too drastic.

I'd love the look, of a beefier wheel and tire, of course... But at what cost in the long run?

But any input regarding this "worry" I have, is gladly welcome!

I won't disagree with opting for a 35" tire. I had 35s on mine for about a month. I'm now running 37s with a 1.75" spacer BUT I'm on a 2" Mopar lift so clearance is not an issue

I'm running stock wheels with the 37s. This is my daily driver and I have not re-geared. Just took a trip from Nebraska to San Diego and back and have zero complaints, Averaged 17mpg on the way out and 14.5mpg on the way back due to a strong headwind all the way back.

First off, welcome to the madness. Secondly, how about some pics of this “”Beach” edition? I haven’t heard of it here stateside. Sounds interesting and I bet it would sell well here

I personally wouldn't worry with 35's if you don't need them.

But if you have money to throw away and have to have the look, go for it.

3.73s would be *fine*. I wouldn't do it with those gears - but many folks say it's fine.

I'm a bit of a realist. I bought my tires and wheels for $400 from a coworker. Factory take-offs from a Rubicon. 35's look great. It's simply not necessary for me though.

Maybe I'm just a boring fella. My 2015 Camaro SS has a cat back exhaust on it, a CAI, and wheel spacers with stock wheels and factory spec tires. For all intent and purpose - it's a bone stock 10 year old car. And I like it that way

Hmm...Sounds interesting.... Can you provide the complete setup? Tire size, spacers of lift if any? This is the problem with these things, now I have to consider and ponder another option...hahaha..Love it!!!

Yeah, Haven't taken any Glamour pics yet, this was completed just this past Monday.... But heres a quick pic from the dealer.

Also, heres some info on the "Jeep beach" edition ... Jeep Debuts 2024 Wrangler and Gladiator Jeep Beach Limited Editions | Cars.com

For me it had everything I wanted and then some and I was able to get a hell of a deal on it. Not sure the dealer knew too much about the product. They didn't even know it came with hard AND the sundrider flip top.... It was in the bed..... Crazy...
