I have a 22 eco diesel. Last Friday I took it in for the fuel pump recall, the PO didn’t have done. The dealer is about 30 miles from me. They called me in an hour, said it’s all done. Picked it up, and it felt like it was almost chugging, starving for fuel or something. Got about 10 miles away from the dealer and I got the service electronic throttle control light, and a CEL. I have the banks tuner, and it’s telling me it’s P0299. Is there something the dealer could have done? I had zero problems before this.

Among other possibilities, a leak in the air intake can cause that code. I'd check for a loose or improperly aligned/seated intake connection first on the off hand that it's something easy to fix yourself, otherwise take it back to the dealership and have them correct the issue.

I don’t know if they mess with the egr plumbing, but if they do then it’s probably loose. They can run a smoke test to determine if there’s a leak there.

I would check the connections to the mass airflow sensor. They need to unplug it then remove the airbox assembly.

You're not alone. I had mine replaced in June, and it is back at the dealership for the fourth time because of a fuel leak on the driver-side injector valley.

The last time I picked it up my mass flow sensor was not plugged in all the way. My airbox was not seated in its mounts and the intake house was not seated into my airbox.
The thing that sucks about all this is that zero issues before they replaced the pump.

Did you have the Banks Derringer plugged in when you had the pump done? Some Have reported that the dealer flashes the ecu sometimes during the replacement. Banks will tell you to uninstall the Derringer before going into the dealer for any work.

Yes I did. The PO installed the banks unit, and gave me 0 info on it. Is there a way to uninstall and reinstall? Maybe this is all I need?

I have same code and issue with ours.

Took it in for p2002 code that popped up on a trip a few months back. Documented and cleared to see if it would come back. When I saw the soot in the tailpipe, I took it in. The dealer blew me off saying there was no code in the system even though it was clearly still a permanent code stored. They did the pump recall and sent it!

First trip out of town and the p2002 came back, then 100 miles later service throttle, p0299 code, and reduced power symptoms came up. I limped home because I knew what would happen at the dealer if I cleared the codes again.

This happened to me after my second recall attempt lol. Long story short my fuel rail to the injector had a leak that wasn’t caught. My car ran fine for about 10 minuets and then all hell broke loose. My motor shook so violently that I thought I blew out a front tire on the highway.

Is that the end of the story? Or did you find a fix?

The uninstall and reinstall is pretty straight forward but it can be a pain to do it. It took about 20 minutes to uninstall mine to take it to the dealer. I haven't reinstalled it yet. The initial install took a little longer to run all the wires but now that that is done it should be pretty quick if you leave all the connectors in place like I did. Here is the install video I used and the removal is just the reverse.

Ok! The dealer just came and picked mine up. When I hear back from them I’ll update here.

I just made the appt for a Friday drop off. I'll do a quick scan under the hood before hand. Hoping its a simple mistake of something like a plug shook loose and not seem major issue that they "can't duplicate".

The p0299 didn't happen till 500+ miles after the pump swap.

I just noticed this morning that the MAP reading is stuck on 0.7"Hg vacuum regardless of throttle position or load........... Hoping for a defective or unplugged MAP sensor for the p0299 code.

Be interested what they find with yours.
