Did the dealership actually write up a service ticket stating they swapped it and part numbers used?
Oh, don't start asking questions like that. This was a legitimate warranty repair authorized through Stellantis. There is CERTAINLY paperwork. Right? 🙄

I went out and looked at my 23 Mojave. Found 1 fastener , just like the OPs. I would classify both mine and the thread starter's as a stress crack in the GEL coat, it is not structural. some 2 part epoxy and off white paint and it would not be detectable.

Glad yours is fixable. If I were the op, I’d want mine swapped as well. If it’s brand new, it shouldn’t have stress cracks. Mine very well might, but I’ve been off roading it for 67k miles.

that’s the second person to say I’m angry/mad … who is angry?!?! Not me.

Parts should not be swapped between vehicles on the lot. A new top should have been ordered and then swapped out at a future date. But I bet the dealer would just sell the unit with your cracked top and not do a thing unless question or asked. That second part is my cynicism.
Hate to burst your bubble, but parts swapping is common at dealerships. Usually done to get a faster resolution to a customer's issue. Never a problem as long as proper remediation is done to the donor vehicle.

No, they already performed an unethical maneuver to please a customer … the right answer was to speed Stallantis money and order a new top and swap it when it comes in. It’s a cosmetic crack, no urgency.
If you recall the demeanor of the OP at the beginning of this thread, I'd bet there was urgency. In any event, as long as the concern is resolved in a timely manner, how that happens really isn't anyones call but the dealership.

Not sure what your issue here is. As long as the customer is happy, and he appears to be, who pays for the repair is not your concern.

I was going to write the same thing.

OP was madder than a bear with a sore ass. If I was the service manager I'd have done exactly the same thing- find one on the lot, swap it, make the upset guy happy and get him out of my hair... and then deal with the inevitable delay from Stellantis on replacement. Damage control!

In the old days it wasn't uncommon for a dealer to snag wheels or other parts off another vehicle to close a sale. This isn't far from that practice and perfectly acceptable.

Unfortunately, the day before noticing the crack in the top, I discovered a dent in my hood from some road debris. I have to get a PDR repair..
Or…you could just drive the living hell out of it for the next ten years, enjoying every single mile through dirt, dents, dings, brush pin stripes, then sell it for probably close to what you paid for it. Hello it’s a Jeep!
