Alrighty, nothing new but more anecdotal info.

ordered this https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808296316826.html and it arrived in 10days, had everything I needed hardware wise. Followed the pdf that is linked earlier in the thread, had no issues installing everything on a newer windows 10 laptop(i5 11th gen, 16GB ram, 256GB ssd) I used the installers that came with my kit. Read flash and eeprom of the truck PCM without issue, no need to power cycle, verified fine. The SM2 was switched to auto and I selected Yes when the power prompt came up. Rinse and repeat with writing to the blank PCM, no issues or need to power cycle.

I only used +12v no batt+
Since it was mentioned I did use a 12v 2.5A rated adapter instead of the 12v 1A rated adapter that came in the box to try and minimize voltage drop. Outside of the initial power spike voltage never dropped below 11.7v.

I did try to read the blank PCM, and got the verification error, same as @DailyDrivenTJ likely because there is no complete program written to the blank PCM is my guess.

I slotted the cloned spare PCM into the bracket and engine bay, started up the truck with no issue. Had a CEL, read the DTCs they were because the PCM was unplugged. Cleared the DTC and started the truck back up no CEL and no red security light.

All in all pretty easy process, getting the PCM and bracket out was a pain due to the 3 christmas tree cable/zipties on the bracket, whole thing probably took 30-45mins. Embarrassingly it probably took 10-15mins to get the PCM/bracket out of the truck.

Thank you for checking the blank PCM and the verification error.

I used 12V adapter that is supposedly better from Amazon but interestingly I had to power cycle when reading from the original PCM. I would definitely try higher amp rated adapter if I were to do this again..

My plan is to keep the old PCM in place and just cover the ports so dirt won't accumulate on them and mount the tuned PCM over the fuse box. Has anyone mounted the tuned PCM this way?

I've got the MRTuning SOTF now. I like how it drives the most with the tow tune selected.

On 40s with stock gears at the moment. I also run his transmission tune.
I can confirm, its smooth and drives great. And even while on 40's would walk away from mine with even half throttle lol

Does anyone have the full cloning kit they would like to part with? I realize the kit is cheap, just thought I'd ask if someone doesn't need it anymore after tuning.
Thanks

I have the kit and haven't used it yet and probably won't for a little while. Bought it when it was on sale from temu. I'd be willing to let you borrow it if you pay shipping and just ship it back when you are done. I believe I got mine for like $30-$40 bucks from temu with shipping.

Thank you for the gesture. I’m in Canada so shipping back and forth would be more than buying it I suppose.
I guess I should have put that to start.
Probably just buy my own. The kits are kinda useless though after the ECU is cloned though no?
Thanks

Useless unless you want to start a cloning side hustle. This will either help pay for the Temu/Ali Baba purchase OR stock the beer fridge.

With how efficient you can do a clone on a diesel, you truly do not have to remove the stock ECU as all the pin connectors are on top. You only have to remove the stock ECU to install the new ECU.

What year is the Ram? I bought a used ECU from a 2020 ecodiesel Ram and pulled a copy off of it then cloned my Gladiator on it. I ran that ECU for months

So 2020 Ram ECU works on a Gladiator?
