Speaking of the Freedom top, if i want to paint my a different color should I take it to a paint shop or is something I can do and it turn out well?

Paint shop, DYI option will most definitely end in regret

Pro tip: The Jeep hardtops are already white. Just strip the black coating off. No painting needed.

I’ve been waiting for the weather to clear because mine is tending towards slum. On my scale anyway. It ain’t bad but it really needs cleaned out. The Chemical Bros cleaners work wonders on the interior.

You live in SoCal, how much better weather do you need? It's 30* and sleeting here and I changed the oil in my gravel driveway a few days ago. Man, I remember laughing when southerners thought 65* was cold and wore winter jackets, while I'm out in shorts/t-shirt.

June is the release of the America Edition, where Gladiators and Wranglers will share in America's 250th Celebration.

Plot twist, they ARE releasing the v8, for the 250th anniversary. They confirmed the v8 for 2026, and would drop the ball the hardest if they failed to do this. then again, it's stellantis, and they can only fondle balls, not hold them.

I'm showing my age here, but I remember back when all CJ's had black windshield frames and black metal hard tops. Didn't matter what the body color was. It sorta reminded me of Henry Ford when he was asked about car colors, "You can have any color you want, as long as it's black.". I kinda like that Jeep continued that tradition with black hard tops on the current Jeeps.

Since I'm new to this "new style" Jeep with freedom panels set-up, I have noted that some panels are listed as "paintable" while others are not. I've also noticed that some panels are smooth while some are textured. I assume the smooth panels are the paintable ones ? Why is this so ?

I've tinkered with the thought of color matching my top with my body color (Hydro Pearl Blue), but then I'd be taking one more thing away from what makes this thing a Jeep. The basic black top just screams, "Yep !! I'm removeable !!". Part of me wishes the doors were black, also. Color matching everything would only make it resemble every other vehicle out there...

If money were no object, I would buy a rag top and rag doors as a nod to it's roots. In black canvas, of course....

True story: When I moved from Long Island to Texas, Long Island temperatures was in the teens. The morning after I moved, I stepped outside to smoke (I smoked back then). The temps were in the low 60's. I put on shorts/T-shirt/flip-flops and went to the store. It was fabulous. Texans looked at me with the same look I was giving them. Most were bundled up like they were at Ice Station Zebra.

Then came summer. While they were walking around totally dry, I was sweating like a hooker in the front pew at church on Easter Sunday. I never knew that every single pore of my skin could produce sweat.

That was in 1984. I've been told hundreds of times, "You'll adapt.".

I'm still waiting.
