Finally had a problem with my wife’s 2019 Sahara, heated steering wheel quit working , covered under extended warranty but there was this Willys in the gladiator row , caught my eye looks sharp and has some nice options in the package.

Not a fan. Of the paint color, those awful wheels, or those loud ass tires.

But it sounds like a lot of folks do like it so glad for you fellas 😄

"It’s a beautiful tribute! I actually had an order in but pulled back—I couldn't justify the trade-in hit and rolling over debt right now.

It’s an awesome-looking truck, and that Mojave-style graphic is killer. Since it’s Willys-based, getting the rear locker, Off-Road Plus, and steel bumpers factory-standard makes it trail-ready out of the box. The 3.73 gears should handle that weight fine, too.

I saw one recently in NJ and that Drab Blue / Drab Olive combo is even better in person. However, the dealbreaker for me was the payload. The one I saw was rated at 870 lbs, which is a massive drop from the 1,765 lbs on my Max Tow. That’s likely why they won’t let you factory-order the heavy JPP rock rails with it.

I also noticed the gloss black grille from the promos isn't standard on the production models. It’s a great spiritual successor to the old Sport S Freedom Editions, but I really wish they’d offered a tan top to complete the look. Definitely one of the best special editions Jeep has released lately.

Don't forget, those lockers act like an open differential when they're not locked, so in 4L you won't have BLD. My '21 Willys has the "anti-slip" Trac-lok LSD, takes me most places an open rear diff would get stuck.

And the Willys ALWAYS get screwed on the payload since they never offer a MaxTow package for them, only the "Tow Package" with 3.73 gears. If you want towing capacity, get a Sport S MaxTow, if you want a rear LSD, you are no longer limited to the Mojave/Rubicon. This has been true since MY2024.

Good looking truck!

I noticed that 25+ wrangler willys's (willys?) have the hi-line fenders. I wonder why they don't do that for the gladiator?

Is it four wheel drive.
It is 4X4!
Tires would not be my choice you can usually hear a Willys coming up to pass you , good tires. It should be optional perhaps. I am a raised white letter guy but not on a truck that goes in the rocks…..Jack
