Has anyone asked the dealer about getting paid out for the engine replacement cost instead of them repairing? There's no way I'm putting 3 underwhelming 3.6L in even if it's covered. It would be great if they'd cut me a check for the cost even if I have to sign off the warranty altogether. It would pay for a decent chunk of the v8 swap.

Not a bad idea. $10k credit for my $30k upgrade

Just out of pure curiosity, what grade oil are you two using?
Not trying to start a debate or anything, I'm just genuinely curious.
Oil? They take oil? 🤪
When I do the change, I use the recommended 0W-20 (Amsoil)
When I let the dealer change it, they're supposed to use the factory recommended also.

Responded Sunday to a Wrangler and Bronco that got stuck in deep snow on one of the year-round trails Saturday. Both drivers walked out of the trail and got home safely Saturday night.

Rolled out of the house at 08:45 and got off the trail at 16:00 and back in the front door at 18:00 or so. We got the two vehicles out of there; they were originally unstuck fairly quickly. The rest of it was getting the Bronco unstuck again when we decided to first try going forward to complete the trail. Decided to turn everyone around and go back to the start of the trail about a kilometre back. Then getting one of the rescue vehicles (an '99 Cherokee) unstuck after it got into a ditch turning around. The rest was winching almost every other truck up a long, steep hill. (The stuck Bronco lost 4wd and the Wrangler was a sport with open difs and bad tires). Everyone got out safely and uninjured, and I was reminded again that my first build in the spring is installing my winch. Did I mention it was -18ºC?

The first picture is the two stuck trucks. The rest are parts of the rescue.

Dang sad to see a Bronco get stuck on a speed bump like that. :giggle:

Picked up my @Metalcloak 3.5” True Dual Rate lift and driveshaft. Also got five pounds of Columbian green beans to roast. Now I have to see if I can borrow a buddy’s garage and lift, or if I wind up paying the shop to install.

I usually just boil my green beans but to each their own. Sometimes they go on the grill. At least the ones that make it into the house. Gardens make me hungry.

Quite doable to do without a lift, and in the driveway. Not easy, but by no means horrible.

Yeah. I’ve been reading the instructions, and if I can get it off the ground enough I can do it. I don’t want to get to using a spring compressor through.
I also have to wait until spring time.

Yes me and my uncle did mine and although we could have used the lift we just used 2 floor jacks and 2 very heavy jack stands . once the front is jacked up tires and track bar and sway bar end links & shocks lower bolts taken off use floor jacks under the frame each side lower slowly and then you will be able to take springs out . We did it in 2 seperate days 5 hrs 1 day 3 hours second day. Thats just because we are both old 😂
