This solves the problem. I never unbuckle it from the truck. I bought these when I had my Ram because it was the same way, the wife's Durango too. I'll never get rid of them.

It stops by slamming the transmission into park, sounds good for the tranny right? I done this a few times when moving the Gladiator around my driveway.
I'm pretty sure it isn't slamming into park. It felt like it applied the brakes.

So I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not as I do not have a Gladiator yet but the same thing happened with my Cherokee and if you tap the E-Brake switch you can temporarily disable it.

This is from the Cherokee User Manual for this if it's the same thing ...

Safehold

Safehold is a safety feature of the Electric Park Brake
System that will engage the park brake automatically if
the vehicle is left unsecured while the ignition switch is
in RUN.

For automatic transmissions, the park brake will automatically
engage if all of the following conditions are met:
• The vehicle is at a standstill
• There is no attempt to depress the brake pedal or accelerator pedal
• The seat belt is unbuckled
• The driver door is open

For manual transmissions, the park brake will automatically
engage if all of the following conditions are met:
• The vehicle is at a standstill
• There is no attempt to depress the brake pedal or accelerator pedal
• The clutch pedal is not pressed
• The seat belt is unbuckled
• The driver door is open

Safehold can be temporarily bypassed by pressing the
Electric Park Brake Switch while the driver door is open.
Once manually bypassed, Safehold will be enabled again
once the vehicle reaches 12 mph (20 km/h) or the ignition
is turned to the OFF position and back to ON again.

I'm pretty sure it gets put in park, when mine did it the truck moved back and forth a bit after it stopping which leads me to believe the brakes weren't applied.

If that's the case then I stand corrected.

I back up with the tailgate open all the time. Cant close the tailgate with a dirtbike on it. So that cancels using the camera.
I'll be buying those seatbelts insert .

Love this forum. Just bought my gladiator 2 weeks ago. Already changed all the bulbs to LED, bought a Rubicon lift, tires and rails, now the seatbelts thing . All from reading you suggested material.
Havent found a solution for not getting the touch entry . I'm used to having it on my other 2 vehicles. I'm always forgetting.

The AutoPark feature is the single most maddening feature FCA ever put on a vehicle. It pissed me off for two years after I got my JL and then moved into the JT. I was starting to cool off, and then you guys had to make another thread about it. Some moron didn't put their GRAND CHEROKEE in park and rolled over themselves, so that means EVERY FCA VEHICLE needs AutoPark? Excuse me, I thought this was the USA, not North Korea.

Anyhow, Tazer will only disable this feature IF you have a 2018 JL or JLU that still has the first release of the vehicle software loaded to the onboard computers. If you get your vehicle flashed with updates at the dealership, Tazer will no longer be able to disable AutoPark. To my knowledge, it also will not work on JT because JT got the updated software from the get-go.

Those seat belt plug-ins above are genius ^^^ Can you provide a link please?

And the backup camera is mostly worthless in any state with moderate or greater snow fall (especially those using salt). My camera is in a perpetual state of Road dirt fog after driving in CO or UT. From mid Sept to Mid April I do not expect to have much if any reverse camera visibility. I wipe it off frequently and wash my truck but those are very temporary measures. The vast majority of the time the backup camera is completely obscured.

Hmm....my wife's Renegade TH sorta had this "feature" but was able to disable it via one of the Uconnect settings menus. Probably different than the JT since the Renegade has electric parking break which would engage anytime tried to go into reverse with door open.
