I've restored a lot of automotive dashes and trim and often use Sharpies in metallic silver and wipe off any excess with a cloth and solvents or white paint cleaned off with Goo-gone on a cloth stretched over a flat piece of wood or something.

Looks great! I think I'd probably do white too, just because every other switch and door is done in white, so my OCD requires it to match.

Does anyone have the factory trailer brake controller option yet? I've seen the picture in the printed brochure and it shows the knob as a close-up but I can't see where it is installed. It does say that it'as not available with the smokers package so my guess is that it goes where the ashtray and/or lighter would be. Haven't seen that either but I'm guessing its at the bottom of the panel where the power window switches are. However, I have a Rubicon and the off-road switches and Auxiliary switch bank is located there. So my questions are - where will the trailer brake controller be located and can it be installed on a Rubicon with the optional auxiliary switches?

From what I've seen, the controller knob replaces the 12v cigarette lighter socket.

Hoping for good news. I need to max out the tow capacity of mine getting gravel really soon and really don't feel comfortable driving that much around without brakes.

I hate to say it but I may go with the Redarc Tow-pro Elite. I need to get stuff done also.

I almost pulled the trigger on that one, but then was told the factory one is expected to be out by early Q1 and decided it was worth the wait since it could have extra features and integration with the internal systems of the jeep.

That's my take at this point. I need to hook up to my rig and do some testing and get things ready for spring shows so can't wait too long, but if it's "early 1st quarter", I'll keep watching.
As soon as I hear they are coming I'll be in line but you can bet with so many of the max tow and others sold for TOWING, there will be a long line and likely we will see them on back-order.
