Not to add fuel to the fire, but is there any outlet temp sensor in the HVAC system itself? I think it only monitors OAT and cabin temp. Which means it will just heat or cool until the cabin is at the setpoint, not the discharge air. This is how my GC works, it seems like there is no real "manual model" like back in the day with a slider.
I agree it's kind of annoying, but typical of how cars are becoming automated these days. Hell, Tesla won't even let you aim your vents without a computer in the M3 haha
