I used plastic decking planks. I added rubber chair leg end cap to the rear one, both to reach the adequate height and allow some space underneath. In the front, I fixed a second plank to keep it in place. I cut the material a little longer so it’s really tight and doesn’t move. Even if it is thinner, it's really though and weights more than the real wood version. I was able to buy thicker (and heavier!) planks in the past but can’t find them anymore.

It feels about perfect. The install was a little confusing and I had to drill the mounting hole a little bigger to get it on but it was otherwise simple. Very nice improvement. I figured I'd color match it to my Firecracker Red so when the doors are off it would pop.
I think I need to track one down like that. Had been considering one anyway, but this pretty much nails it. And painting to match, love that idea.

Finally got over to the base auto hobby shop to install my teraflex level. Took almost 3 hours since everyone and their Nan wanted to come over and ask me about it while I was working. Now if only quadratec would hurry up and ship my wheels so I can put these damn 35s on that have been in my bed for 4 days already.

Should have used hinges instead of L brackets - then it would store flat if you need to take it out for any reason.

What base? I was on Ft. Hood, many many years ago, and they had a great shop.

Lejeune, it's a pretty decent shop, pretty much every tool you could need. Lifts, jackstands, they even resurface drums and rotors. OFC both the tire mounting and balancing machines are broken right now though

Added the Redline Tuning Hood Quicklift kit tonight. About 5 minutes per side. Prop rod no longer needed.

I just added a Daystar level/lift to my Sport today as well and can't wait to get tires.

I actually served with 3rd LAI BN out of "The Stumps" during Desert Shield and Storm, we were part of 1st Bn LAI while in theater. I loved the LAV's and bar non my favorite unit I served with.

Older ChoiceDeck/AERT and Trex (pre 2012) didn't have the hidden fastener relief cuts and were 5/4" thickness. New stuff is basically 3/4" stuff. This looks great though. I need to cut down my 2x4 boards I used in my Super Duty to work in the Gladiator, or source some new ones.
