I got the impression Pry that you were trying to extend your range while towing. I could see Jerry cans being useful if you were overlanding or traveling in a remote location and there were no gas stations in site, but not for simply having extra fuel so you do not have to stop at a gas station. Some of us don't have multiple vehicles/trucks. The JT is our primary daily driver, off roader, haulter, tower, and summer convertible. I guess absent an aux tank, carry 4 jerry cans.
I used to have a Jerry can on my CJ. I think the fuel take was eight or ten gallons, so the Jerry gave me an extra five if I was in a remote location.
Takes awhile to unstrap, fuel can, fuel, wipe the fuel off that you spilled on yourself, curse and move on.
