Just called my service dept, they set an appt for the update like I asked so I can try to drive it for a about a month and see if that fixes it.
I booked an appointment for my oil change, state inspection sticker, wheel rotation Oct 5 and messaged @JeepCares after my last post, before I saw yours, to do the same thing.

I'm still waiting on my MT recall parts to arrive. Took mine in 2-3 months ago and it's been crickets...figure when they tell me the recall parts are in, I will start complaining about my steering. I was towing an empty trailer (about 1200 lbs) a few months ago on the highway doing about 70mph when I heard a LOUD pop/ding sound. Like a rock hitting metal, but loud. It felt from that point on that I had lost my steering stabilizer. My steering has been sloppy. But I have no noise coming from any of the steering components and nothing seems to be loose. Before this incident, I would have just characterized steering issues as a Jeep thing having owned several...but now, it is definitely noticeable as "off"...I'll have to look at the steering box itself a little closer.
We can help with W12. Send us a PM with your VIN and dealer name.

Anyone with first hand knowledge or work for a dealership inform us if larger tires (35"), leveling kit (1.5"), fox shock or a Tazer will be any issue when we go in for this fix?

A new TSB has been issued for improved steering feel in the JT Gladiator. Please see attached.

TSB: tsb-08-074-20-pdf.356442.pdf
HALLELUJAH! My JT has pulled to the right since I bought it. I put it in the shop two or three times to get it corrected, but it never has been the way it should be. I will be calling on Monday! THANK YOU for sharing this!

I guess this came out at the last possible second for me. I was going to install my lift this weekend. I called my dealer to ask about the TSB and if lift/tires was going to be an issue. Of course, you can't actually speak to a service advisor, just the receptionist who only knows how to book an appointment. Had to explain to her it wasn't the physical steering wheel that was loose. She put me on hold and went to ask if the lift kit would be an issue. Came back and said it was better that I hold off installing it. Annoying. So I set an appointment for this coming Tuesday. We'll see how it goes.

I may go ahead and put my stock tires back on this weekend and remove my Tazer. If they update the software, I'm not sure if that would cause any problems with the Tazer programming.

Come on, lift it with bigger tires so we can see if they will do the TSB repair!!!

Technical Service Bulletins are advisories to the dealership that if a customer comes in with certain complaints or problems, this is the fix - and handle it like any other warranty issue. There are parts specified and time allotted.
So if you go in with a problem that matches what's described in the TSB - basically, the dealership has instructions on how to fix it - and they are supposed to.

Since this has now been made official - it's hard to see how any dealership can ignore a customer. I'm sure some will - but you can get bigger guns involved now.

These are some of the older Jeep "TSB"s I have (bottom shelf - I have others.......)
- for a while they were called "Diagnose and Repair" bulletins. You might be amazed at the totally simple problems and fixes - to very complex fixes over the years.

On the west coast, I had the TSB parts ordered yesterday and installed today. I pick up tomorrow. What's the best way to validate the new part? Can you see the part number while it's installed?

Thank you.
Can you comment on 35" tires, 1.5" leaving kit and a Tazer being any issues when we take our trucks in for this?

Yes. In your drivers side wheel well, lift up on the inner liner at the frame. That’s where the p/n s/n sticker is.

Just an FYI, I checked a couple of fresh arrivals on our back lot, both JT and JL, they are still using the older AE part number gears in production. Dealership employee and JTLE owner here. Mine will get the TSB done as soon as parts are available, as said above late September it looks like so far.
