Why even bother leaving it there while parts are being ordered? Unless it is undrivable, just take it until the parts are there
I had to leave it there initially because I was also getting my back window fixed (it leaked when it rained), along with the steering. This was the second visit for both items.

The first time I dropped it off for the back window & steering they did an alignment and said the steering was fixed (it still pulled and wandered after I got it back). They also said they'd have to set up an appointment with their glass people to get the back window fixed.

The appointment with the glass people was scheduled for Sept 1st. Since I had to drop it off for the glass appointment, I went ahead and mentioned that the steering still pulled to the right and wandered... and I gave them a copy of the actual Service Bulletin.

After not hearing from the dealership, I texted them for an update on Sept 4th, and that's when they said they were waiting on parts for the steering...

I was hoping if I just left it there, that it would get done faster. Plus, I was trying to avoid the hassle of having to take time off work (and have my wife take time off) to drop it off again for yet another appointment.

Just got a called from FCA Canada.

They have closed my case and rejected the TSB fix due to the fact that I have an "aftermarket" lift it (Mopar 2" lift installed by GTA dealership).

Unbelievable. No words. I was also told this is a final decision and there is nothing I can do.

Way to go FCA Canada.
sounds like it’s time to lawyer up

I don't know about him - but I had a good reason -
The dealership was 30 minutes away.
I drove it up there, my wife came and picked me up in my WJ.
We were almost back home when they called and said that the bolts were not in, did I want to come pick it up again and bring it back later.
That would mean another 30 minutes up, and 30 back home with it - an hour.
Then in addition, it would mean 30 up to take it back again, and my wife coming to get me, and 30 back. Another hour. So it meant 2 hours of additional driving and my wife involved both times, and more gas. So I saved 2 hours of my time, and my wife's time, and 2 hours of gas.
Plus I found out later than the mechanic had taken it apart in anticipation of the bolts arriving the following week after I said - 'naw, just keep it until the parts come in.'

So that meant it was inside, original steering gear was removed and - LOL - my truck was IN THEIR WAY inside their shop! They'd want to get it done ASAP and move it out.
It meant I had LEVERAGE now - they had my truck - in pieces.
To go get it and take it back later I would have been at the mercy of their scheduling once again and perhaps be put off, plus when those parts came in, THEY WERE MINE! BWAHAHA........ (insert evil laugh here)

Even though my wife's Grand Cherokee was dead due to two bad batteries and other issues, we still had two other things to drive anyway.

RedRaptor is in Canada - so I'm not sure if he has any further way to escalate this situation - FCA and dealer both said no.
The odd things is also that apparently there is a newer or modified TSB that says "2" Mopar lift is ok" (or words to that effect)
It's a shame that it seems so much harder to get results in Canada than the states - I'd almost expect the exact opposite.

Makes sense. If I was in that position I would have taken it back after the rear leak until they got the parts in. But you always have a hope that if you leave your vehicle there, they will get to you first.

How long did it take for the dealer to complete the diag on this TSB for everyone? I’m going into day 3 and I feel them having two full days is plenty of time..
Literally diagnosed it in less than 30 minutes (they drove it). Parts were ordered.

So after my dealer installed the wrong parts on my jeep, and I caught it when another forum member suggested that we check, I reached out to the dealer and to Jeep corporate for help ... I Informed them 3 weeks ago that I am going on vacation in late September and really need the part replaced as soon as possible ... And since it is a dealer created cluster phuck, I had requested that they expedite things for me ...

They originally gave me a date for the part to arrive of 9/24. This was great ... Since I leave on 9/28 ...

I called the dealer (of course no one called me) (That would be customer service !!! and taboo) on the 24th and of course the part is not in ...

So I called Jeep Cares ... Keep in mind I leave next week and did not cancel due to their assurance the part was to arrive on 9/24 ...

Here is the correspondence I got this morning from JeepCares:

"Good morning Thomas

At this moment dealership haven't got the part just yet
currently waiting on corporate parts to give me update
- for now Thomas i suggest to adjust the vacation time until further notice

thank you sir "

Adjust the vacation time ? My wife and I both have time off of work, we have hotels booked and are meeting with friends ... Yet they are rolling out 2021 Jeeps with these same parts ..

These guys are really something else ...

Ill adjust it until further notice ... I wonder if I can adjust my monthly payments until further notice as well ? Anyone think I would be successful with that ? As my vehicle sits ?

Why can't they put the original back on?

The original one is long gone I would guess ... Not offered as an option ... It was far worse than this incorrect one anyways ...

My dealer service department is not really known for going the "extra mile" or coming up with "creative solutions" ...

I didn't realize what they had done for a few weeks. So the original box is likely discarded Id think ..
