Only made it to the mailbox and back so far. I doubt it will do much, HP wise, but I do like how it looks. For anyone looking to add these, I would highly recommend buying 1” or 1.25” M4 screws to help fixate the passenger side vent during install. The wing nuts they send are too big and don’t work.Looks great. Almost like it came from the factory. Can you feel the difference, or is it too early?
Looks good! How do you like it? Got any more pics? Thinking about this one myself. Did you get any lights for the tag?RR HD Rear Bumper.![]()
Brushed it with a fine stainless wire brush, treated it with Extend rust converter, then painted over it. I've done minor rust on multiple cars that way and they are all fine - one was done over a decade ago, the others about 8 years ago, no rust since. This is concerning. Did you treat it, and how?
I keep rust converters on hand, both brush-on and spray. And I used a black epoxy paint on my SX4 door locks to match the Jeep door handles I installed last year so have some of that left. That is pretty common on both the JL and JT. Something about the welds either from the material itself or them not cleaned properly that makes the E-Coating of the frame not stick to those spots well and they chip pretty easily around those areas.
Getting it address by warranty is spotty and I think you are better off just spraying some rust converter and touching up with some like black epoxy paint.
