Installed my Rubigrid today with the standard phone mount. Kinda wish I went magnetic, but can always do that later if this doesn’t hold up. Really sturdy and great quality for $84. Comes with everything shown.

Really enjoying my magnetic mount. I have the Nite Ize Steelie in my work truck, but this is a cleaner install for the JT.

The video that was the most helpful was the Quadratec one. The video mentions that it is for the base audio system, but it is not true. It will work on JL/JT that have the "premium" Alpine system. If you have the premium system, make sure you bypass the built in crossover (hope my write up was clear- if not, let me know).

As for the speaker set, I bought them at Crutchfield. Amazon had them as well, but Cruchfield provides the Metra adapters that allow you to bypass the crossover. It can be a bit confusing, as the description says the Alpine SPV-65-JLT is meant for the base audio, but they include the Metra adapters to bypass the crossover (go figure).

The videos mention that cutting the soundbar hole is challenging, but they skip/gloss over the fact that the provided template is really bad. Like I described in my write up, trace the pattern with the template, then cut extra to avoid the deep "cupholder" shapes. The template is really STUPID. If you choose to do what I did (use a utility knife), make sure you use a new sharp blade for each side. I was lucky. I managed to cut it okay without using a jig saw or air saw. I even tried aviation snips, but the shape was too difficult for me. Looking back, I'm glad I didn't remove the soundbar.

Just take your time. I hope you find it to be as big of an improvement as I did. Good luck, and post what what you did. maybe you can share some new hacks!
Thanks for taking the time to post that. Much appreciated.

How much wind noise do you get from it? Im really interested in getting one for mine. I can do light to moderate, but not heavy wind noise. Thanks, and it looks great! Love the paint matching

An expensive beer coaster. But for real, it can be used as a cutting board, and a flat surface for camping/cooking.
Gotcha...link?

Ok. Someone help me understand what this is?
Essentially a tail gate cutting board. It’s food safe, so good for prepping, etc. while camping, tail-gating...whatever.

Edit: Late to the party.

Thanks to the post @KurtP put up regarding the Mopar cold air intake, I did the same. I didn't want to hack up the hood, so I didn't install the hood vent.

I can't believe how much clutter was cleaned up by simplifying the flow path and getting rid of the resonators.

I also went with the AFE filter. For some reason, the Pro Guard 7 was the priced the best on Amazon (cheaper than the other models: $72.51 w/ free shipping), so I ordered one. It shipped direct from AFE.

Visually, it appears the AFE filter has more surface area. Left to right: AFE, K&N, factory Mopar. I didn't include the filter that came with the CAI. It was similar size to the K&N (and high quality).

Fits perfectly into the factory lower air box.

Installation was very quick. It really cleaned up the clutter from the attached "kidney" resonators.

Driving the truck immediately after was kind of disappointing. It felt it lost some power off the line. However, it seemed to gradually adjust to the new filter and housing. Now that I put about 50-60 miles, it feels it regained what I lost. Like others have commented, it is definitely louder during acceleration, but unnoticeable at idle and cruising. Initially, it was very lackluster, but the more I drive it, the better it feels - at least according to my "butt dyno".

Glad it helped. Thats the same set up i ended up with.

Give it some drive cycles so STFT carries over to LTFT tables. You picked up some WOT already, and it will help your efficiency some in a few drive cycles and add a touch more power. But also remember i did Intake after tuning, which is really REALLY needed on these, so youre results wont be the same
Intake only.

Enjoy!! Nice install!
