I wanted to thank Lisa. I took my JTRD to the dealership today. I was able to reproduce the suspension hitting in the front for them. They couldn't find anything obvious and wanted to start with replacing the front shocks. I don't know if this will fix or solve the issue but I will make sure to keep everyone posted.

Hopeful it will but doubtful. My service manager stated that they didn’t compensate for the engine weight. He noticed before he even drove it. Keep us posted.

That is my assessment too (didn’t compensate for increased engine weight), but what do I know?

Hey guys,

Just traded my JKU for a JTRD about a week or so ago now and have also been noticing the bottoming out issue really badly in the front end.

I live next to the National Forest here in WA so we ride dirt quite a lot. I would be able to drive 45mph in my wrangler over stuff my JTRD can only go about 20mph on, and even then it SLAMS the bumpstops.

Even just a good ol fashion pothole seems to hit the bumpstops which is insane to me.

Called Jeep cares, (didn't get to speak to Lisa) and told them about it... The lady I got documented everything and gave me a case number, but said they haven't heard reports of this issue yet.

I guess I can go to the dealership and see what they'll do, but I'm not sure how exactly to approach them to try and get a solution that I don't have to spend even more money on with an already expensive rig.

Any status updates from the folks on this thread?

Thanks for the response! I'll try it again in a couple days and go from there.

@F1REICE any updates on you working with the dealer to get the new shocks yet?

I did receive a response from Jeep Cares today, the shocks are on back order and expected sometime in July. Lisa has been out of the office but expected to return next week and the representative from Jeep Cares said she would probably contact me when she returned. I have heard more from Jeep Cares than the dealership.

So far I’ve yet to notice this on our HA Diesel. I’ll be pushing it a little today and will really pay attention. Watching this thread to see what Lisa/Engineering says.

I was on a paved forest road for the first time this weekend with some relatively "small" potholes and experienced this jarring problem too!!! Was only going approximately 25 mph and actively avoiding major potholes.

It’s ridiculous…. I had the service manager do all the tests and he agreed and created a case. I had them put the Mopar lift on as it was incapable on a Forest service road. Problem solved. I will be asking for some type of compensation for this overlooked issue, this is my 6th Jeep.

Did you pay for the lift yourself and are seeking compensation? Or did Jeep take care of the cost of doing the lift?

I'll be calling Lisa in a couple days or so since it sounds like she is on vacation

I paid. They have no parts to test the issue. Engineering is now involved.
