I've ordered spacers.
1" front, 3/4" rear as a stop gap while I figure out which lift I'm going with.
Have a new bumper and winch on the way but don't want to add steel to the camel's suspension until this mess is sorted.
I'll be surprised if Chrysler comes up with a proper solution

To optimize the spacer lift, I’d get front shock extensions, usually come in 2” and then get a .5” shim for the bumpstop and you’ll gain more suspension travel.

I really just want a little distance from the bump stop until things get sorted. I'm hiatusing(?) going off road until I get a proper lift but those should cut down on the road hazards bottoming out the front end in the meantime.

Imagine; you can't take your "Trail Rated" vehicle off the paved road because it can't take a washboard at 15 mph.

That’s why I suggested what I suggested …

Well flesh out your suggestion then because it's a bit more involved than a simple Puck addition. If what I'm suggesting alone will not work then explain why.

Did you not read my initial suggestion … let me break it down.

The ecodiesel has longer bumpstops from the factory, about 1.5” … reducing compression.

Add a 1.5” spacer and “undo” the 1.5 deficit in compression, but now you compromised extension.

Shock spacers will give you more extension

Add 2” shock spacers and typically you need to extend bumpstops but the same amount, 2”

Back to the ecodiesel, since the bump stops are 1.5” longer then for the shock extensions we only need to add .5 to the bumpstop.

Now you can use ALL shock Uptravel and gain 1” of compression with your spacer lift and not waste any down travel ..

Understand ?

The extra effort for extra downtravel may be worth it for going off road but for normal surface driving? Still not making your case.

I really don’t feel conference that Jeep will find a good solution! In fact I think they know about it. They put a large bump stop 1.5”on the ecoodiesel at factory they know that make a shoulder travel suspension vs a gas gladiator. I am thinking really hard to cancel my order and get the new toyota tundra 2022 trd pro. It is the same price.

TRD Pro is a completely different vehicle. No comparison. If what makes the Jeep special.....massive aftermarket....doors and roof off.....etc etc... aren't important to you than by all means buy the Toyota. The Jeep can literally do everything the Toyota can do. There are many things the Toyota can't do.

can you answer my question about the bump stops?

YES! Jeep basically gave a Jeep with 8” of travel, Ecodiesel turned it into 6.5” of travel … instead of bottoming out you could experience hyper extending, a loud thud as weight comes off your suspension over a speed bump …

Here we go again, unable to go over a speed bump.

I've also heard from Jeep Customer Care that if you've installed a Mopar lift to resolve this issue, then save your receipts, and IF Corporate determines the fix for this is the Mopar lift, then Customer Care will work to reimburse. If the fix is something other than the Mopar lift (e.g. stiffer regular height springs & shocks, or enhanced bumps), then you probably wont get reimbursed. Customer Care has not gotten info yet on what the parts are for the fix.

Just dropped my JTD Gladiator off this morning here in Utah, was told they need it for a few days ?. Wish they told me when I scheduled. I have the 1.5" Teraflex level kit, I anticipate thy will use that and say that's the issue. I made sure to have the technician call me before I come pick it up to discuss more if needed. Glad to have found this thread, as I just dealt with it. I will update once I hear back on my experience. Thanks to Kate @JeepCares for making a ticket and hopefully this will help the case for us all to get this fixed.

My experience with @JeepCares: took it to local my Jeep dealership and got nowhere - they couldn't duplicate the problem (of course). I opened a case number a few months back, and they attempted to make me an appointment at another dealership, who never called them back and I never got in (yes, the dealership would not get back to JeepCares for an appointment!!). They tried another dealership and they wanted my truck for at least 4 days, with no rental/loaner, and I said no thanks. They've been very adamant about closing the case number since then but I've refused. I suspect it was closed anyway because I haven't heard from them in while. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. I'm glad to see the STAR number and some positive signs of resolution coming, and would be even happier to see a STAR with the 26W (Willys) package listed.

I just ordered the AEV 2" spacer kit, which comes with 2" bump stop extensions. Has anyone here tried the puck reduction/delete on a spacer kit? It makes sense but I see a lot of comments about axle-engine clearance so that makes me nervous. Thx.
