Lol. Got tons of ideas. Only thing i cant decide is what wheels to go with. Originally i was going to pick the Warn wheels then i saw some replica quadratec mophic wheels i like as well. Just waiting on my Rubi to show up.
I’m going with the Teraflex wheels when it’s time for new tires. I air down almost every weekend so having it built into the rim will be awesome! I just wish they weren’t so ug!

Where did you order that from?
Likely Ebay. There's a vendor there who sells them. They're meant for the decal, and were on the anniversary models. I hated the decal so replaced them with these. (right under the Jeep emblem on the front quarter panel) They just so happen to fit perfectly on the dashboard grab bar.

Sold it, and got a 4Runner….TRD Off Road Premium w/ KDSS. Took me a long time, alot of effort to find one, and camping out ifo a dealer to get it without a mark up. While i was stroking my check, 5 people came in to buy it. One yelled at the sales person for not being able to get it.

im a Toyota homer. Always have been…Land Cruisers have taken me -literally- all over the globe. So, when I couldnt take the gladiator on my move, it seemed logical to go back. Front bumper and winch, Elka suspension, ARB skids, TRD intake and exhaust, URD fuel controller, tires, KDSS controller, and more already going on now.

well. I will say, part of me wonders if i shouldnt have gotten a JL.

the tech, infotainment, and user interface of the 4Runner is hot garbage. The OS is stable, and seemingly quick as uConnect, but its not close outside of that. It doesnt dim with the interior lights…separate dimmer in a menu, which is stupid. if you get out of the truck while it is running, you cannot lock or unlock doors from the fob Which bothers the shit out of me. Remote start shuts the car off when you open the door, and you have to restart. The 5spd/od gear box isnt bad, but its way behind the 8spd in the jeeps, and mileage suffers in comparison. My stock 4Runner gets the same as my Gladiator did with 37’s, 4.88, armor, and the supercharger

its not all bad, though. The traction systems are LIGHTYEARS ahead of Jeep. Like, better than lockers. A-trac is amazing, and combined with MTS, it simply cannot be beat. The 1500lb payload is, imo, the bare minimum for an overland vehicle. KDSS is a dream…it handles like a sport sedan around corners. The 4.0 engine has a lot more low end grunt than the jeep 3.6. And omg- an outdoor enthusiast vehicle that has cup holders that fit a Nalgene?!?! Amazing.

I love the 4runner, but if i had the last 5 days to do over, I might go to jeep and see if i could get a suitable JL with a 2.0 engine optioned the way I want with a sticker under $50k…..i guess with the prices of used 4Runners i still could….haha. T4R is a great truck, i just think im surprised how much I miss my jeep, and seeing how far Jeep has come that a Wrangler unlimited and a 4Runner can be in the same conversation.

I appreciate this write-up -- good insight. I traded-in my Gladiator for a Lexus ES-350 FSport since I was moving into the city life, but I miss my JT. Now I'm trying to decide on whether to get a 4R or another Gladiator, maybe even a JL. Cheers.

Gladiator hasn’t had much the last couple days. Spacer lift should be here tomorrow. But I did manage to put some wheels on the JLU. I am liking the bronze wheels on billet silver. Posting it up should anyone be considering the combo. Wheels are Alph equip delta, and have a few neat off-road features.

-12mm offset and 4.530 BSM. With the 12.5 tire size, they go quite wide and I have mud flaps inbound
I have a set of Black Rhino wheels in almost the same spacing and 17x12.5 tires.... I think you mentioned using spacers with these... ??? What size spacer and why did you have to use them ?

I built my own headliner and painted the freedom top with Krylon Fusion Satin. I had some second skin sound deadener laying around from a past project and put strips directly on the hard top & freedom panels. Sound system sounds better an road noise is reduced. Also retains heat better. I built it for less than a 100$ and my own time, one of the better upgrades I’ve done over the years. Probably have 4 hrs into the headliner, including making the templatess. I used 3/4” insulation board from lowes and still have enough to make another pair, for the front freedom panels, going to do another color, maybe red to go with the dash? The black hardtop feels more refined.

I didn’t add any extra spacing, but the Mojave naturally sits 1/2” wider in stock form if I’m not mistaken. If that’s correct, then moving to the 12.5” tire + -12mm (.5“) offset and inherent .5” on the Mojave should add ~2” total to a stock non-Mojave on the Dana 44s

I think Powertank makes some valves that you can add to your wheels.

Used some old cargo netting to create an "attic" in my AluCab Canopy for storing sleeping bags. It's a creative use of an area of unused space that 1) doesn't position any "real" weight higher in the vehicle and 2) allows the bags to stay lofted when not in use.

EDIT: I should note for those concerned, I'm not worried about heat from the canopy roof damaging the bags because there is an RTT mounted to the roof; so the roof sees no direct sunlight...

My only hesitation with these is that I don’t know how bright the reverse lights are
Ok, so my apologies for taking so long to reply on this, but I finally drove it at night yesterday. To be honest, I can’t really compare to the stock halogens because I never thought about it before. However, I had no problems seeing with the backup camera. However, it wasn’t the greatest amount of light looking out my side mirrors, but it was sufficient(also I tinted my front windows, so not sure what impact that makes or compared to stock). So, all that to say, I’m satisfied with the reverse lights and these taillights overall.

Unfortunately, had a car driver not pay attention and rear end me at a traffic stop! She obviously got the worst of the situation, my rear bumper and tailgate are the obvious damage to my Gladiator.
