Late to this conversation,
i have a 21' Gladiator diesel Willys. I have 2,700 miles on it. Right from the beginning it was bottoming out on any dips in the pavement and especially speed bumps at low speeds. I've installed an AEV 2" leveling kit on it. It still hits pretty hard. I'm unsure what to do.
I really want to add a front bumper and winch out off necessity but I'm sure it'll only make it worse.
I'm open to suggestions...

Spacer lifts don't typically fix the problem, because in addition to adding spacers on the top, they add spacers onto the axel strike plate as well, so it doesn't really add to travel, just changes the surface that comes in contact with the lip.

Adding a true lift... e.g. Mopar or other manufacturers', fixes or at least improves the situation greatly. (One owners of 2" lift said he still bottom out, but under much tougher conditions than before). RockKrawler has a 1.5" leveling kit for Gas Gladiators that include taller front springs. The diesel specific version is due soon.

If you are planning on adding winch and bumper, (and I'd then infer that you are planning on taking it off pavement) then in my opinion you'll have to lift it. The Mopar lift might be enough, but you might still get some contact after you add weight. AEV's 2.5" dualsport has a diesel specific springs. Clayton Off Road states they'll have 2.5" diesel springs by next month, which will likely be firmer than either the Mopar or AEV springs.

It is a bit sad that the "Trail Rated" moniker isn't really true on a stock diesel JT because of the suspension. If you are going to drive off pavement, you pretty much need to lift it.

So I picked up my 22 JTRD on Saturday, it had been at the dealer for 2 weeks but I was too busy to get it earlier. Ordered on 1/13/22 delivered to the dealer on March 11th. First of all, I love it! Love the fit and finish as well as the way it drives!! Coming from a JKUR on 37's, coilovers, axles, ect. this truck rides great!!! My bump stops are identical to the updated ones that have been posted here. I have hit several dips and speed bumps. No bottoming out so far. LMK if there's any part info or pics you'd like. Just by eyeing it, I'd say I have 2.75" between the bump stop foam and the pad. The bump stop foam is minimal, if I did hit the bumpstop it would be rough. That said, I dont plan on modding the suspension at all, rides great stock and I have no desire for bigger tires or lift, been there done that. Maybe 35 AT's when these MT's wear out?

I have had my JTRD since early 2021 and it has bottomed to beyond the bump stops since day one. Multiple dealers later and all saying the parts are "All Good" I gave up. I put in a Clayton and Currie full suspension system and now the Rubi Diesel behaves the way FCA should have sent it to me. I feel like sending the bill to FCA for reengineering the diesel to the level it should have been when I purchased it. FCA/Stellantis, the diesel is WAY heavier than the gaser, so come on. Why should the customer have to sort out suspension on a brand new Jeep Truck!!!
100% BS!
You BETTER get reimbursed for this!
I'm contacting my dealer with this
TSB 02-003-22 REV
IF its a snowjob or doesn't fix it..... its lawyer time!
As someone else stated, this weekend I went on a sand road - I'm SLAMMING all the way down at 5, 10MPH!
My friend has the 2.0T in a Wrangler - that thing FLYS over MASSIVE ruts he was shooting for on purpose... just like the vehicle was... A JEEP!
I drove it too. I've been ROBBED.
IF YOUR GLADIATOR IS BOTTOMING OUT THEN YOU ARE BEING ROBBED! THIS IS FRAUD!

Exactly and jeepcares will do nothing to address it.

I may talk to my dealer again and see what they recommend. It bottoms out which isn't normal.

It's almost lawyer time imho and the more people we get on board, the better. Rubicon owners get a fixnyet we don't? Wtf??

Mine was ordered 1/18. Picked it up on 2/27. The bump stops look like the updated ones. But I only have 2" of clearance.

If anybody experiencing issues with bottoming out is interested in testing a brand new prototype factory re-placement set of front coils, shoot me a PM! I only have a few available so it will be first come first serve.

Stock height, or as part of your 2.5" lift? I have a Clayton 2.5 gas lift at my shop ready to be installed. Would like to have gotten your 2.5" diesel springs, but Adam said they'd not be ready to ship until later this month. I have a trip to Moab on 4/22 that I need this installed by.

These coils would be for those looking to keep stock height. Diesel coils for our 2.5" and 3.5" kits are actually due in this Wednesday :)

Mine is a perfect match, diesel and Rubicon - and SITLL not giving this the priority it needs!

That's terrible. Nothing from. @JeepCares other then (That TSB is not for your vehicle).

Thanks a lot jeep, I really appriciate it. I bought a defective truck that can't offroad but is supposed to be able too.
