Well no were have I seen anyone on there 3rd motor by 15000 miles as with the 3.6. Bad cams lifters, heads. All kinds of problems. But yeah stick with them being reliable.
I have 30,000 miles on my 2021 Mojave gas no issues at all, and had 20,000 on my JLU before it which was a 2020, but yeah diesel has had cam issues as well and I’m sure that anything with a turbo won’t be as reliable as something without, that’s with gas and diesel.

Like your viewpoint of the Mojave?
But my Mojave is identical to the rest so if mine rides like shit only stands to reason they all do, because they’re all the same

Well my 1997 ram 3500 has a turbo. Never had a problem with it and it's 26 years old. ?

OP just needs to make a pro/con list and figure it out himself. There is a potential shit sandwich waiting for either one and he needs to figure out which one he can swallow when and if it does.

Your first 4 oil changes are covered. air filter and fuel filter are inexpensive and easy to replace.

what other maintenance? Everything is warrantied until 100k 5/year.

In california right now diesel is 6.04 and regular gas is 6.30 at the station I go to.

Just saying everyone says maintenance on the diesel is more but aside from having to change a fuel filter every couple eyars and spend 13$ on def fluid every few thousand miles its really no different.

Plus no spark plugs, or cam phasers to go bad.
5. EMISSION WARRANTIES REQUIRED BY LAW 5.1. FEDERAL EMISSION WARRANTY A. PARTS COVERED FOR TWO YEARS OR 24,000 MILES Federal law requires FCA US LLC to warrant the following emissions parts for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first. FCA US LLC covers all of these parts under the Basic Limited Warranty for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Diesel • Charge Air Cooler (CAC) • Crankcase Ventilation System • Electronic Fuel Injection System (including Injectors) • Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve and Control System • Exhaust Manifold • Fuel Cap, Tank Assembly, Fuel Pump, and Fuel Lines • Glow Plugs • Intake Manifold • Mass Air Flow Sensor • On-Board Diagnostic-System Components • Oxygen Sensors • Throttle Body • Turbocharger Assembly • Urea (DEF) Tank and Control System • Vacuum Hoses, Clamps, and Fittings (as well as Tubing used for these components) • Vacuum, Temperature, Altitude, Speed, Time Sensitive Valves, Sensors, and Switches (used in these components.) B. PARTS COVERED FOR EIGHT YEARS OR 80,000 MILES If your vehicle has one of the following parts, this Federal Emission Warranty covers that part for a period of eight years or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first, calculated from the start of the Basic Limited Warranty as set forth in “section 2.1 E”. The covered parts are: • Nitrous Oxide Sensors • Oxidation Catalyst/Particulate Filter Assembly • Particulate Matter Sensor • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) • Selective Catalytic Reduction Catalyst Assembly • Transmission Control Module (TCM

quite a few parts that the 100k drivetrain warranty doesn't cover, turbo, fuel pump, egr, all the def stuff, exhaust, its all on page 14 of the warranty manual for diesels, only good for 3yr/36k miles

Everything has a failure rate... for those of you that concerned about it, go get yourself an LS400.

I don't think you understand how the warranties work, or the differences between them. There is no difference between the gas and diesel warranty other than the length of time. That is it.

You get a "Basic Limited Warranty Coverage" with either gas or diesel that covers everything within 36K miles. In addition to this, you get a "Powertrain Limited Warranty" which is 60K miles for gas and 100K miles for Diesel. Both warranties are limited to ONLY internal parts. So that long list of parts minus diesel specific things like glowplugs (sub spark plugs etc.) wouldn't be covered for either engine.

You're trying to twist the facts as if one owner would be on the hook for external engine components when that is the case for both engines.

Feel free to take a look here yourself. https://www.mopar.com/jeep/en-us/my-vehicle/warranty.html

In the end I know the cost for repairs will be much more from the diesel in comparison to the gas.

In the end I know that diesel owners will be much happier than driving an underpowered gasser.

I know I did it for 13 years. And that is why every person in here said it's the better engine and got it after driving both back to back. The only people that complain are penny pinchers and those with no personal experience with the platform who regurgitate everything they see online.
