Eco diesel or 3.6 gas??

Well no were have I seen anyone on there 3rd motor by 15000 miles as with the 3.6. Bad cams lifters, heads. All kinds of problems. But yeah stick with them being reliable.

I have 30,000 miles on my 2021 Mojave gas no issues at all, and had 20,000 on my JLU before it which was a 2020, but yeah diesel has had cam issues as well and I’m sure that anything with a turbo won’t be as reliable as something without, that’s with gas and diesel.

Well my 1997 ram 3500 has a turbo. Never had a problem with it and it's 26 years old. ?

Your first 4 oil changes are covered. air filter and fuel filter are inexpensive and easy to replace.

what other maintenance? Everything is warrantied until 100k 5/year.

In california right now diesel is 6.04 and regular gas is 6.30 at the station I go to.

Just saying everyone says maintenance on the diesel is more but aside from having to change a fuel filter every couple eyars and spend 13$ on def fluid every few thousand miles its really no different.

Plus no spark plugs, or cam phasers to go bad.

quite a few parts that the 100k drivetrain warranty doesn't cover, turbo, fuel pump, egr, all the def stuff, exhaust, its all on page 14 of the warranty manual for diesels, only good for 3yr/36k miles

traded my 18' JK with the pen v6 for my JT diesel , zero issues with the jk (only 17k ish miles tho)drove the JT gasser then hopped in the diesel , no comparison ,go diesel

I don't think you understand how the warranties work, or the differences between them. There is no difference between the gas and diesel warranty other than the length of time. That is it.

You get a "Basic Limited Warranty Coverage" with either gas or diesel that covers everything within 36K miles. In addition to this, you get a "Powertrain Limited Warranty" which is 60K miles for gas and 100K miles for Diesel. Both warranties are limited to ONLY internal parts. So that long list of parts minus diesel specific things like glowplugs (sub spark plugs etc.) wouldn't be covered for either engine.

You're trying to twist the facts as if one owner would be on the hook for external engine components when that is the case for both engines.

In the end I know that diesel owners will be much happier than driving an underpowered gasser.

I know I did it for 13 years. And that is why every person in here said it's the better engine and got it after driving both back to back. The only people that complain are penny pinchers and those with no personal experience with the platform who regurgitate everything they see online.
