Hopefully out there getting his Jeep back
I thought I read that he contacted SXM Guardian, but was waiting on status, so either they couldn’t deactivate his Guardian GPS, the SXM&GPS was cut/disconnected, or they did activate and locate it and he’s working with cops to get it back.

I’m sure it’s already been said, but having a manual helps with this problem

Keep me informed on this ..I went to the last step in the order processes and got a e-mail with a order # from them but I have not payed for it yet !
Still nothing from them...I went through the process as well but hit the last page of terms and conditions and my eyes went a bit blurry... I guess someone is simply going to have to order one to see if this is worthwhile. I was looking for their return policy but Im still looking.

I had no doors and no top on and my keys weren't in my normal place

I had left them in the key holder between the cup holders overnight

Done this a couple times, not stolen yet!

Before we get worried that Jeeps are easy to steal just think about statistics for a minute. You're far more likely to NOT get your Jeep stolen
I’m really bad at leaving my truck unlocked, which has the garage door opener and an extra set of house keys in it. I’m getting better at locking it though ;)

Related to the OP’s post, I would like to have more detailed information on how they were able to steal this truck. I’d like to do something that may help prevent it. The iPad thing is interesting for sure. Someone mentioned the air tags, but you wouldn’t need the iPad all the way up to the truck, you would see the truck from the road. So I’m wondering if this was used to help break in, and if so, what exactly was done.

Anybody used a kill switch? (Like on a motorcycle) If you do not know where the switch is, you can't get the power to the vehicle to start it. Hot rod guys had them in the 60's and 70's on their cars to prevent theft and other things. (turn off blue dots etc.) Sorry you got jacked man. Thieves suck.

Yep, that's exactly how they're taking all the other Mopars too. They stole your keyfob signal. Maybe I really should start wrapping mine in foil.
That's the main reason I didn't get passive entry, auto door locks, and auto start on mine.

I've heard some people say you can put the keyfob in the refrigerator to block the software from those 'stealing' the signals.

Yeah man it’s really sad. Obviously the truck can be replaced but the memories, time spent wrenching is all gone. Plus it makes you just not feeling safe. This most likely was targeted and the vehicle was stole by kids and the truck is in a crate ready to go overseas.
except that most insurance companies will not cover costs associated with modifications. which, for some, could be in the 10's of thousands....

5K for a lift
5k for a canopy
3500 for a tent
thats nearly 15k just for some 'basic' items.

It's a subscription once it runs out.
It doesn't always work - if there's not good cell service where it is, or if it's in a building, it may not work. I know this from experience.

Again, what's that got to do with "registering" a check for the AT device?

I was responding to this quote -
>> Many thieves are now aware and check for them with their own device. Apple and Android could register these checks but so far does not....<<

Apple registering a check by a thief? So if I stole a car and there was an Apple AirTag in it, and I did a check using my phone, how would that check for the device be registered? All I have to do is turn on my BT and look for what's there. How would that be registered?

Someone suggested that a search for the AirTag could be registered. How? It's one-way. It's like looking at or for something. that something has no idea I'm looking for it or have found it.
How can you register a search?
Ubertooth can find all BT signals registered or not

Depends on your insurance. Allstate let me insure all of my add ons provided receipts I have a really good local agent. Up to 20k overall aftermarket.

So very sorry to hear about this. I do hope it is returned safely. Yes, I know, not the best chance from pros, but one can hope. If not, hope the insurance provides for another. Good luck!

thats weird. when I was with Allstate they said nothing aftermarket was allowed.... since then switched to USAA. They were able to do 'agreed' value, and arbitrarily set a price above what blue book said. maybe I'm not talking with the right people.

I think it depends on the broker with the agency. We have a awesome local broker who I’ll literally invite to holidays because they are that awesome.

ya that sux man. Thankfully I have 3 cameras in the front of my property. I also have the spare key in a RFID blocking box to block any signal. Ya if a thief really wants it they will take it. but I will make it that much harder for them. Low life scum... However. Due to the guy I got a brand new Premium soft top from having his Rubicon stolen and then getting a new one. I was able to get the top for $1300 cause he just didnt need 2 tops and wanted it gone. so Win for me on that instance
