I think it’s usually worth the money to invest in some good tires and wheels I am a fan of the stock AT tires I have seen on a lot of JT Rubicon and Mojave models. I bought my 2021 JT Sport used but it already had Fuel rims and BFG AT tires on it as a newer JT owner I can say the look of the tires for me is very important. I downsized from 2 Wranglers to one JT this year so paying more for tires and wheels will probably equate to what I was paying for 2 vehicles. Extremeterrain.com seems to have fair deals on wheel/tire sets.

I got the AEV Borahs with the same offset. Love them! This should be a good idea of how it sits for you.

I did end up sticking with the Wildpeaks, too! They are just as quiet and well mannered at 37".

I got 5 Pintlers sitting in the garage for 12 days now, they were delivered right before I got hit with the 'Rona... Am going to get 37's, and have been doing my own ton of analysis trying to decide. If you go 35's it will be cheaper, I'm looking at between 2k and 2.4k depending on which 37 I choose.

Got it narrowed down to KO2's, General ATX's, Geolander X-AT's, and Mickey Thompson Baja AT's. For a while I was thinking Recon Grapplers, but decided to stick with 12.5's and not go with 11.5. All of these should be as quiet or in some cases better than the Wildpeaks, based on what I have read.

Currently the Baja AT's are my leading candidate, may pull the trigger on a set of 5 later today. They have a $100 rebate on a set of 4 for July's special. The place I'm looking at says they can get them in 3-5 biz days.

AEV wheels are made in china, almost all wheels are. They are nice wheels and perfect fit for the JT, I have had a set of Savegre 2s for about a year.

I’ll get the onyx Pintlers at some point. Kind of thinking about just mounting the stock tires (only ~2,500 miles at the moment) if I do that and then upgrading to 35’s when they wear out.

Never cheap out on what separates you from the ground.

After selling our house and spending my “gun allowance” for the rest of the year (so the wife thinks), I’ve got money left over for wheels and tires.

I’ve being eyeing the AEV Pintler wheels as I really like the offset +25.
Not into the tires sticking out from the arches, want to keep it fairly stock looking. 5 of them run me to about $1600+ tax

Tires are another matter. I honestly have zero brand loyalty but have enjoyed the Wildpeaks that came stock. Wouldn’t mind something that rides the similar, isn’t incredibly noisy (no mud terrains, don’t need them) and give an actual lift over the stock tires. Looks like tires are going to be around $2000 ouch!

Spend my money for me! Or tell me I’m an idiot for wanting to spend $3600+ on getting an inch and a bit of more ground clearance
You want +25 offset wheels but don't mention the wheel width. Offset varies by wheel width, so +25 on 8" wheels have different backspacing (which is what you're really asking about) than +25 on a 9" wheel. See chart.

I think most will agree they are good tires. They just run small. If you are looking at 37’s for a bfg this means buying a 39” tire.
is this legit? will a bfg 39 fit under the bed? i will definitely be going bfg because i have $2500 tire allowance from working at michelin to spend or i loose it. i was planning 37/12.50r17 or the 37/13.50r17. but will go 39 if it will fit under the bed and still be small enough to not need axles and gears

The 39 BFG I've found is the KM3, the dimensions listed are 38.5 inches... which from everything I've found on this site tells me it would NOT fit under the bed. The General Grabber ATX is true 37" and it has been listed as not fitting under the bed. I'm not certain if getting a Clayton adjustable rear track bar (which has a bend in it that will allow for larger tires) is enough to get even the full 37" under there.

Regarding regearing, you'll find a lot of info on here, though it will take a lot of searching and reading through a plethora of threads. I'm getting 37's very soon, and have already decided that doing so is going to come along with re-gearing, since I'm also planning/hoping/dreaming? to be able to get a smaller camper/trailer. Weight wise any 37" is going to be a big jump from the stock tires.

I went with Borahs (+25mm offset for the JL/JT) and 35" (well; LT315s because I couldn't get the 35x12.5 anywhere). Just the right amount of "poke". Also did the AEV 2" lift. Nice setup for what I want to do. Thought about 37s, but really didn't want to have to regear. I agree, tire costs are crazy!

I am running Savegres with KO2s and also have a set of lightly used weld wheels with Hankooks on them. Both 37-12.5 and the bfgs are noticeably smaller. Using the weld set up for trails and AEV wheels for everyday. Rides much nicer on the aev set up looks a little cleaner. The welds have a lot of negative offset and stick out pretty far.

Bfg’s are one of the smallest out there. Or the “least true to size”.
their 39” isn’t 37, but their 37’s measure in the 35” range- 35.75.

If I were looking at a 37” bfg, I would spring for the 39 and figure out a tire mount. Or look at a more true to size tire- Nitto?

That is exactly what I’m going for. Those tires really fill the wheel wells nicely!

Not all Aev where are made in China. The salta XRs are made in Italy for Aev. I actually think they are made by evo corsa, which manufacture rally wheels and other Motorsport racing wheels.
I can’t confirm that they are made by evo but it’s my logical guess.
