Has anyone paid attention to which models with each hood are more or less likely to overheat? Seems to me rubi hood would be the coolest and stock hoods are the worse….

I may buy a hood specially to look and be cooler. Lol

The Mojave and Rubicon hoods from factory are not vented, the Rubicon hood actually has drains to drain the water from the vents, it’s all under the insulation. That said when I get bored I will probably put a couple pieces of the Wrangler 392 hood on my Mojave to vent it…..Jack

Brojave22, search 392 hood here there are several threads on it, parts I was sourcing , Benny from allmoparparts.com a sponser made up a list and has a diagram. I was getting the front piece that attaches to vent and about six rubber flaps to install three on passenger side as factory and fab a starboard piece to put three on drivers side……Jack

Well the Wrangler 392 hood is vented but there are rubber flaps about six of them that when not moving or not moving fast shut off the opening under the hood. the hood also supplies air to the air filter box all the time. So perhaps when stopped having the air being sucked in by fan through radiator would cool it better when the flaps are closed, not sure if the one pictured has "flaps".....Jack

Anyone tried the poison spyder hood vent yet?
I put a Rubicon hood on the Sport S that I previously owned. It needed the vents and rather than put on the plastic ones, I used the Poison Spyder functional vents for the Rubicon hood. They worked well and you could see heat come out from under the hood. Only issue I could see is that rain and snow could get under the hood as they are open. I live in AZ where we don't get much rain and less snow!
