bump this back up.

anyone have any more input on the KM3's? unfortunately about 98% of all my miles are hwy / interstate and I drive about 20-25k miles a year. so I need something very livable, do make some 5 + hour road trips. I'm looking at the C range, trying to keep weight down as much as possible.

currently running 315 KO2's and I'm happy with them so far, only grip is holding onto gravel.

should I put Pat's on the list, like the price and weight.
I wouldn't do the KM3s if you're doing 20-25k/yr and a ton of highway driving. My two cents is to do a good all terrain tire. You'll get better longevity, way less road noise, and they're perfectly capable off road.

I know what you mean on the KO2 holding on to gravel. Its that peanut design where the pattern is small enough to where little pebbles get lodged in the grip. They're good tires though. Maybe try looking at a slightly more aggressive AT? or something not that aggressive, but not with a peanut design like the Cooper AT3 XLT. They're super light as well.

I know this is the answer, but was hoping... I just hate to replace the same tires I'm currently using, but I have no complaints besides the gravel issue. I was just going to build a new set of wheels / tires and keep my current setup together. was trying to con myself into thinking I would swap if I had to take a serious roadtrip.

really wish the Nitto RR weren't so dang heavy, liked that tire on my F150.

has anyone bought some tires from Discount and had them swapped? thought if I got the KM3's and hated I would just get them to swap for some KO2's, obviously within a reasonable time / mile period.

I’m seeking recommendations from forum members who have experience running 37” tires on your DD JT. I am looking at three brands in particular, although I know there are many more out there.

Using Discount Tire Direct as a basis for comparison, they show the following for 37X12.50R17:
Falken Wildpeak AT3W $335 - 83#
Nitto Ridge Grappler $358 - 79#
BF Goodrich T/A KO2 $371 - 70#

What are your thoughts on using any of these tires on your daily driver? Are there other brands that I should be considering? Any opinions are appreciated since you have first hand knowledge of how they perform. Thanks!
I love my Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx tires. They are quiet nice and aggressive looking but well mannered and long lasting. I also have not had any complaints on them while off road on rocks, ice, snow, mud, sand or dirt. I wont even consider another tire for my truck. i am running 37x12.50R17s

Just for comparison, the Sport S max tow Bridgestone tire and wheel weigh 57 lb, should be 34 tire and 23 wheel. The spec diameter is 31.5". Taller tires add weight and perhaps more importantly, inertia.

This may or may not help you with a decision. I scraped a tire site for all of their 37X12.50R17 tires and sorted it in ascending order by weight. I had some tires in here that didn't have a weight on the particular site. Those tires with no weight have been excluded.

Obviously a 37inch tire could vary in size a bit, so take that into consideration as well. Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT is the lightest, and a great tire. KO2's, Grabbers, MTRs and Terra Grapplers are all on the lighter side and good tires. Milestar isn't on the list as it wasn't listed on the site. Its another tire people have had good things to say as well. Hope the list below helps.

Discoverer AT3 XLT 37X12.50R17 68 lbs

We put ridge grapplers on most of our dealership builds for raptors, f150s, and superduty trucks. Its my preference of tire for sure and its what I'll be putting on my jeep when I upgrade. They ride great on the road but still look very aggressive and perform well offroad. there are other great tires too but IMO these perform the best for most peoples use and have the looks that some lack. I cant dont like how plain some at or hybrid tires look

I'd update the list with the Kumho Road Venture M/T KL71 37x13.50r20. They're only 83 lbs. Ride smooth, quiet, wear great, and aren't overly pricey.

I have a friend that runs in the Everyman Challenge at the King of the Hammers and he has been sponsored by Milestar the past several years. He has never had a tire issue, even under such grueling circumstances. We put these on my son's JK last year and realized they were not noisy and handled well compared to the prior tires he had. I recently put the Milestar Patagonia M/Ts on my Gladiator and I am pleased with the noise, handling and price of these tires. They are also much less expensive than the other brands with Discount Tire carrying them for $255.

Below are a couple pictures of the 38x13.50R17s I mounted on my Gladiator.

I put over 2,000 miles on my Nittos over the last five days averaging about 70 mph with a few bursts of 90 mph. Rock solid, no pulling or wandering. Just a sweet ride over some rough highways with lots of construction.

Which Nittos?

I had 37 KO2s on my last JK, and have 37 Ridge Grapplers on my JT. If fuel economy is important, you might go with the KO2s, as they are a little smaller and lighter. Otherwise, I like the Ridge Grappler better. My perception is that they are equally quiet and smooth.

My experience also. I was a KO2 guy for years until I tried the Ridge Grappler this time around. Can’t really go wrong with either, but I prefer the Nitto. I have zero experience with the Falken tire.

I've been running KO2s for years and that's the 37's I'll be running. Best all around tire I've found for daily driving and off roading

Over 1,500 miles on them, and both local and highway driving... Amazing tires both on and offroad. VERY quiet for mud tires. Handle great. Ride smooth. Balanced very easy (avg. was 4 oz of weight). I highly recommend them!

I had a set of 37 inch BFG AT’s.

They measured 35 inches. Wore like a pencil eraser. And they we awful in the cold wet of Washington and Michigan.

Never again.

Got a set of Falken A/T3W’s - fan for life.

We have put just under 3000 mikes on our Falken AT3W's in the last couple weeks and we really like them. We have had them on the highway, sand, rock and mud. So far I am impressed.

Guys with the BFG 37 Al terrains, have you ever put a tape measure to them to verify actual height? I recently discovered my 35's are acually 33.75". I want to get the 37x12.50R17 BFG next, but have been curious about their true deimensions. At work, there is a guy with Toyo R/T 37x12.50R17 on 17x8.5's and his tire only measures out 35 5/8" . Not sure if I lucked into measuring two brands that fal short, or if this is a trend for big tires. Not every one walks around with a tape measure on their hip daily like I do.
