1,000 mile boat tow?

Moving from Houston to Knoxville and need to get my boat there. It’s not big, 18’ bowrider with 115hp 4 stroke outboard, prob <3000# total. I’ve got an overland with the towing extras. Tires are 33x12.5.

would anybody bat an eye about making this haul?

Should not be a problem, in April I plain to tow my 19 ft Center Console 4300 pounds fuel 3 batteries and equipment to Key West. Its a 748 mile trip. I have towed the boat on several short trips mainly 30-40 miles but I did tow it 300 miles once with out issues.

Shouldn’t be any problem from a towing standpoint, but I always worry about the wheel bearings on my boat trailers, check them over well before leaving and carry the spares and tools to change them out if needed, for that distance I would probably carry two spare tires. I usually stop every so often and just check the hub temps with an infrared thermometer.

that’s a good reminder bro. I have a spare but can’t remember the last time I greased the bearings! Need to do that

earlier this month I towed or 3200 flats boat to FL and back, approx 1200 miles total. No issues. Just practice safe driving and towing. Keep your speed down, start breaking early, etc. you’ll be fine, these vehicles tow quite well.
