I don't think anything would be "broken". Shifting the transfer case is might be more difficult than say at 100 miles; about all I can think of, but, not an expert on this situation.

Depends on what you mean by "is that a problem". From the viewpoint of does that cause some sort of damage to the vehicle, no. From the viewpoint of is there something wrong about never using 4WD on a Jeep, I believe most would say yes.

Randy it is a big problem that you are not having enough fun!
Like others said put it in four wheel drive in the dirt or grass and see if it works. Might shift hard when pulling the lever but that is normal from new for any of them. Try low range also , it is an eye opener how much power you have then and so slow!…..Jack

This reminds me of those videos where a person is handed a drill, and then didn’t pull the trigger a couple of times. Or a baseball glove without putting it on and punching into it with the other hand.

you do you.

I've been at dealerships and have engaged 4 WD before getting out of parking area on test drives. :giggle: wet pavement or gravel at least though.

Not a big deal, likely half to 3/4 Jeeps sold haven't been in 4 WD.

Too high of standards? Girls these days tend to start with unrealistic requirements like height starting with 6', salary starting in 6 figures, able to buy an Expedition/Escalade for her and the kids...

Maybe you need to sit it down hand have a chat to realign expectations?

:giggle:

But seriously...

That's a prerequisite for issuance of man cards.

A Rubicon that's never been shifted into 4x4 is the norm, not the exception.

Linkages, cables, and mechanisms not used, will eventually seize.

I see you are right down in SC. Just drive that thing right up to the Uwharries here in central NC and ride the new Lakeview Trail.

This is when my current JT had less than a 100 miles on it this summer.

If you’re not in the habit of using 4x4, it’s good practice to shift it into 4h and 4L and least once every 6 mo. Just drive 100 feet or so in a straight line. Don’t drive any more than that unless you’re off pavement (gravel, sand, snow, etc). That’ll get everything, including the cables, moving and lubricated so it’ll function as necessary when/if you need it.

We picked up a 'Virgin" 80th Anniversary edition with 50k, and it had never been in 4WD. It was so stiff that I almost bent the shifter getting it into 4WD the first time. Those gears need to be exercised. Get out there and have fun.
