So you’re telling me, if I go to the shop and say “set me up with KO2’s size 37’s” I can drive around with out any run in gladiator Rubicon??
youll need wheels with better back spacing; and maybe a level kit for a rubicon. But my mojave is only 1” higher up front than a Rubi, im running 37’s, and no rub im street use, even at full lock in either direction.

you can run 37’s on the road with very minimal cost outside the wheels and tires themselves. Especially KO2’s. Those things usually barely measure over 35”. 35.5” on the wheel last post i saw from someone.

I was actually planning on running a SST 2.5” spacer lift kit with the KO2’s. I currently have the falkens 33’s which weigh like 63lbs I believe. I did a 10 lbs difference including the spare and figured I would be adding about 45-50lbs.

Hoping to not regear with this set up. I’ve only owned my 1st Jeep for a couple of months. So I hope I’m right. I was gonna call a shop today to inquire.

I love the color of your Mojave man!

appreciated. I was lucky it was on the lot so i could haggle better.

i regear to 4.88’s monday. I know a lot of people run stock 4.10’s on 37’s and say “it’s fine“ but i think its nuts, personally. Ive had my 37’s on waiting for gears on order and i cant wait to get them in. Imo, if youre really looking to avoid gearing, stick with the 35’s. I still think those need regear, but it wont be as bad and the difference doesnt look as much as you might think.

here is my Mojave next to a Rubi on 35’s. It looked like a leveling kit on it, but I cant say for sure.

Where?

Please show me the ball joints - here are the front and rear axle assemblies. They are held in place by links, bolts through bushings.

The other picture from my race car (after I swapped in disk brakes) shows an upper control arm and you can see where the ball joint is at the outer end of the control arm - connects the upper control arm to the steering knuckle.

All straight steering axles have king pins or ball joints. Even the heavy duty front axle in my F450 has ball joints

How about in between? BFGs tend to run a little small and the KO2s are very light. Very happy w the result. Wheels are Icon Compression w 4.5” bs

Nice setup! I’m looking at those same wheels and tires for my Overland. I’m running a Teraflex 3 1/2” lift with Fox shocks.

What offset did you choose (-6 or -12)?

What lift do you have?

Any rubbing either on or off-road?

I went with the -6 offset, which is 4.5” backspacing (the same thing as running the stock Overland wheels with a 2” wheel spacer). This is actually a requirement for the 3.5” MetalCloak lift as it has outboard shock mounts. The tires stick out past the fenders a couple inches, but nothing odd looking. No rubbing anywhere on the road. I haven’t had a chance to get off-road yet with this setup, but I’m expecting to have to adjust the bump stops.

I've tried to do some research and cannot figure out what size rims for 315/70R17 tires? I like the BFG T/A KO2s that have been mentioned. I've always liked those XD Rockstars. Looks like I'd have to pick 17x9, not sure about which offset.

Greatly appreciate any guidance! Thanks.

Edit: I have a 2020 Overland edition

9" wide is correct. Stock Rubicons are +44 (1.73 inches), I had Icon 171s on my LE and they were 0. If you want them to stick out beyond the fenders go with zero to -24. If you like them tucked, go with +12.
Here's a picture BFG K02 315/70R17s on a 17x9 ICON with zero offset. Rubicon has a slightly wider axle than your Overland but it is only 1/2 inch total, so 1/4 on each side.

Appreciate the reply. The -6 was what I was looking at ordering.

Just keep in mind that offset is entirely dependent on the width of the wheel. A -6mm offset on a 9 inch wide wheel is different than on a 8.5 inch wide wheel. It’s simply the distance from center (positive moves the wheel toward the vehicle and negative away). This is different from backspacing, which measures in from the axle side of the wheel.
For reference, my wheels are 8.5 inches wide with a -6mm offset, which is the same as 4.5” backspacing. If the wheel was 9 inches wide it would be more like 4.75” backspacing.

In general, how much height gain can one expect going from 33’s to 35’s and 35’s to 37’s? I would like to eventually add a 2” lift and either 35’s or possibly 37’s, but would still like to park inside the garage.
I'm the Same Height I was after I got 35's but I had a Helicopter Crash in Long Island that took off 2 "!!
