Looks great! Just got my Glacier White Rubicon. Still deciding on wheels and tires but my question to you is what lights and mounts are you running on your A pillar? I love the way those look

Thanks!

Hella Value fit lights off Amazon and some cheap brackets I found on amazon also. I ran a set of the Value fits for backup lights on my JKU and they served me well so I figured I'd throw a set of the spots on my windshield. I'm a fan of round lights.

It takes more to make 37’s drive right. Gears FOR SURE. Ball joints. Tie rod. Drag link. Steering stabilizer. Etc. i fully own that the ONLY reason im on 37’s is because the Mojave specific lift looks weird with 35’s. I love how my truck drives now, but had the AEV spacer kit been available i probably would have gone with that and 35’s.
What Mojave lift did you go with that made 35’s look weird?

Looks good! I ordered the Fabtech 2” trail lift kit w/shock extensions for my Mojave and debating if I should run 35’s or 37’s. Thinking of BFG KO2’s at 37x12.5r17 due to the looks and mostly weight..
if it’s the spring lift, it’s actually like 3” up front…..my truck looks comparable to rubicons with 4” lifts. Beauty is the eye of the beholder, of course, but imo 35’s wouldnt look right. Shrug. Ymmv

Yeah, I think I’m going to just go 37’s as I feel I would soon regret 35’s.

Man. I went through this whole battle. Sport S with 3.73.
Then went to 33s added Rubicon take offs.
Added a Terraflex 1.5" Spacer.
Lasted a year on 33s.
Went to 35s.
Immediately had to go to 4.88 gearing.
Wheeled hard on 35s like this.
Added a winch...Rubbed a tiny bit at flex on the inner fenders.
Then decided Clayton 2.5 Overland plus and the Falcon sp2 3.5 shocks.
Now looking at trusses and things to do 37s right.
Can get away with the 4.88 gear and 37s.
Plan is to eat up the 35s first.

Had to go 4.88’s for 35” tires? That’s interesting. What other components, if anything, is absolutely necessary to run 37’s? I read differing things all the time which makes it confusing.

I live at 6,100 feet. You are in Guam. So I assume pretty damn close to sea level.

The JT is underpowered from the get go at 6,100 feet. When I did Imogene I was at 13,100 feet. I opted for 4.88 and it works great for me. Plus I knew I could nudge into 37s if I wanted to.
If you have a JTD, you do not need to regear at all. There is a science to regearing and an opinion piece. Some tell you they run 35s or 37s and 3.73 and love it. I didn't last a week before I ordered gears. My advice is to find a rig with tires you have and a gear swap and drive it.

This is my first jeep. I learned as I went. My philosophy is overbuild it for what you intend to do. Then wheel just under or at the capabilities of the rig. I wheel as much as I can. We hit some solid trails from intermediate to lower end of what people would classify as hard. I plan on trusses, better steering knuckles, and beefier ball joints. Maybe a stouter shaft. Maybe. I am sure there is a guy or gal on here who knows way more about this than I do.

After I regeared and added 37s. Should have done 37s to begin with. Lol

Yeah. You are right. 37s are the sweet spot for DD and very capable off road rig.

@DocMike what are the thoughts on trusses and the need? I haven’t seen much on the need when going 37’s.

I always wanted 37s on my Tj when I had it. Figured on this one that I’d settle for 35s and slowly work my way up to 37/38s. The 35s didn’t last very long I thought they looked small with the lift I have. It never ends though I Love the looks of 40s on these but not prepared to do the upgrades for them.
