I just can't bring myself to run the oil much over 5k. I just changed it again, with 5,200+/- on it while the oil life indicator was at 41%. Anybody else stuck in this mindset? The whole "it's cheap insurance" thing is something I've subscribed to with all of my vehicles. But in this era of rampant inflation, I"m considering extending service intervals on everything but I seem to have a mental block on this, especially with this particular Jeep.
I ignore the oil life indicator and shoot for 4000 mile changes.

With these engines having a certain fine reputation for reliability when oil changes are cut in half from the monitoring system. But having timing chain issues that have a reputation of occurring when oil changes are followed? Hell I will spend the extra $70? For oil changes ten extra times over 100,000 miles for under $1,000 more!

The only reason I look at that oil percentage is curiosity, I always change oil between 3-5K miles, usually closer to 3K.

What in tarnation….. :-(
It is out of a Wrangler (JL) that came into the shop with a camshaft slow response code and a bonus ticking on both cylinder banks. It was an aftermarket warranty claim, and I can't remember if the warranty company covered it or not. I do remember replacing the engine, which was the only acceptable repair in this case. I took the picture just for laughs, I didn't know if it would be fixed or towed out. Here is another picture. This is actually from a different 3.6, but makes the case for regular maintenance.

I use Signature series top of the line Amsoil brand oil. The oil is well know and advertised to go 25,000 miles or a year unless under severe duty. Well , when the oil minder gets to 50% I change the filter. When the oil minder gets to 10% I change the oil and filter. It can vary between 5,000-6,500 miles usually. I am changing this full synthetic 19-20,000 miles early. In my experience this has worked for me as I have 112,600 miles on my Rig. With Nothing but one sensor having stopped working. Zero major mechanical problems.
I have never liked the little dinky cartridge filter that the 3.6 uses and that is why I change it at 50% of the oil life.

I use Amsoil XL which is good for about 12000 miles but I change the oil at 10000km and oil filters at 5000km interval.
This is similar to my approach filter at 50% oil life and oil and filter at 10% Amsoil Signature series over 112,600miles on my Odometer.

I use the same oil, still change between 3-5K, do the same with my Challenger.

I don’t want to get into a pissing contest with anyone but for me I’m running 5W-30 full synthetic with 5000 mile OCI. I don’t like the idea of running water through my oil galleries…

10000 mile change will get you past waranty. Dealers use that and many other tricks to brag about low maintenance cost also planned obsolescence to got you to buy another. 5000 will get you longer life. Why do you think the extended warranty programs insist on 5000 mile changes...lol

Every 5K on oil and filter. Every 25K on diffs and transfer case. It’s just easier for me to keep up with and since I have a 2020, the drain and fills are easy.
Your right about the diff changes being easy .. My 2021 was made in June of 2020 and I have the previous style pumpkin with the lower plug and it drains real quick. I am using Amsoil 75W-90 full synthetic and so I change at 40,000 but yes oil is always 5,000 to 6,500 with that extra filter change at 50% . Frequent changes and Quality oil goes a long long way
