As most Midwestern's know one of the worst days of the year is having to pull your boat which means summer is over.
After spending 3 plus hours on my back laying in the driveway scrubbing the scum off the hull, the Gladiator decided to throw the infamous Service Stop / Start soon light on the dash. 2021 with 49,560 (ish) miles. Never had 1 problem till now. BALLZ.

How long do I have before this thing is dead on me? Do i pull the fuse? Do the battery cable removal, or just replace both batteries and suck up the cost?

If I was you I’d just replace the aux battery. I have 88,xxx miles on my 2020 and still running the original main battery

It’s about time to do a battery I’d say.

Delete the aux and be done with it on the long term, get something readily available in your area that fits the spec.

I’ve had 3 sets in my JT and don’t expect more than a few more months out of my 3rd set of OEM’s. They don’t seem to like the transition to the colder temps in the desert after months of 110+ and coming up on the expiration of bumper to bumper warranty means I’ll likely be doing the same very soon.

How much spare time do you have to spend testing the batteries?

I would probably just replace them both so you don't have to worry about it.

If you have the time, disconnect the negative cables and separately charge each battery. Let them sit for a while and then check the voltage on each. It should be real close to 12.8 volts. Anything below 12.5 I would replace.

The average life expectancy of batteries in the JT is about three years. If they are kept charged, driving every day and battery maintainer when not, they can last longer.

I prefer the ACDELCO batteries. Getting them from Amazon is easy and convenient, with no core return. Just make sure Amazon is the seller, in case you need warranty service in the future.

ACDelco Gold 94RAGM (88864542) 36 Month Warranty AGM BCI Group 94R Battery https://a.co/d/1dL8ldl

I would probably try one of these, just because of the cost difference, and Amazon is not currently selling the ACDELCO Aux 14.

I turned the wheels all the way to the left, pulled back the fender liner, and replaced it from the bottom. Since then, I have watched some videos, and next time I would take off the fuse box and do it from the top.

The way of life guy is one of the banned sites (for this forum), but he does some informative videos among everything else that is there on his YouTube page.

I went with a LiFePO4 motorcycle starting battery in mine, but any Group 14 AGM battery should fit and work. A YTX-14BS motorcycle battery will drop in and fit if AUX14 batteries are still as hard to get as the last time I tried.

I went in through the fender after taking off the front right tire and had zero issues when I did mine.

Fun looking boat. Do you wake board? A power washer wouldn't strip the scum?

I take the power washer to the boat immediately after pulling and power wash it before it dries. Most everything comes off for me. If you let it dry then forget it IME.

I guess the first thing you should do is properly diagnose it and make sure that it's actually the batteries.
I second that. My batteries were fine, but the IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor) had to be replaced. After replacement, no issues.

I think replacing the batteries have become the go to answer when that light comes on or there are electrical issues. Which is itself a bigger issue because the batteries aren't the only parts associated with the electrical system.

IBS, Fuse array, Fuses, CANBUS, Bad connections, etc. All could be an issue.

Glad you got yours fixed. That's good to hear.🤙
