2 door won't ride as nicely as the Gladiator.

I have a 24 JL along with the Gladiator. The JL is the daily. It’s a 3.6 with a m/t. It’s a blast to drive. Doesn’t ride as nice but it’s certainly fun. Also has a bit of get up and go with the 4.10’s. It is a hard top but I added a sunrider.

I’m thinking about buying a Wrangler. Anybody have one?

I’d appreciate any insight on ride, road noise and power.

I’ve read mostly praise for the 2.0 4cyl turbo. Seems like that should be plenty for a small vehicle, but interested in any and all opinions.
I have a '20 JT Overland and my Wife has a '21 JL Sahara with retractable Skytouch roof. Same 3.6 6 cyl and trans as the JT, but IMO the JT rides better for road trips because of the slightly longer wheelbase. Also much less road noise in the JT because neither front or rear tires are under the cabin area of the vehicle. In the JL, the rear wheels are just behind the rear seat in the cargo area - still part of the cab and there is road noise. Both have the 18" wheels. They are the same inside as far as comfort and both have plenty of power when you need it. We have always had a Jeep and have owned a variety over the past 30 years. We love my JT because it's a truck when you need a truck but it's still a Jeep with quickly removable doors and roof. My wife loves the Skytouch roof because it's easy and she doesn't want to mess around with unbolting the roof.
For us it comes down to personal preference, their both great, so it depends on what you want to do with it. I bought my JT first and she borrowed it so much, she decided to buy her JL a year later.

We have a ‘24 JL Rubicon and a ‘25 Gladiator Rubicon X
The 3.6 is a bit peppier in the JL. The ride is better in the Gladiator with the longer Wheelbase.

I can stuff more cargo on the inside of the wrangler than the Gladiator.

go rent one and see what you think. Hertz and National have plenty in the fleet.
JL has an optional winch package which I have and is not currently offered on the Gladiator.

Personally, after renting a Wrangler with the 2.0 I didn't want that in my wife's 2024 JL. I found the loud engine noise very annoying, thankfully we found what she wanted with the 3.6

There are days I miss my Wrangler, but I much prefer how the Gladiator is on the road and off road. Not sure I'd enjoy the 2-door on the highway.

Yeah, we have one - widely considered to be the best Jeep ever built.

Wind noise is awful, I keep earplugs in the cup holder. It makes 175 bhp if you wish real hard, and there's no carpets so imagine driving a snare drum over gravel.

I love it more than any vehicle I've owned.

We have a ‘21 JT Overland…my wife enjoyed it so much she traded her Mini Cooper for a ‘24 JL Sport S 2-door with the Turbo 2.0.
I love my JT, but the JL is way more fun. We use it primarily for our 4 hour runs to the Outer Banks, and a lot of beach driving.
I have really become a fan of the 2.0.
we previously had a Mercedes GLK 350 with a 3.6 V6, and a Mercedes GLC300 with 2.0 Turbo.
My experience with both 2.0 turbos has been very satisfactory. 60,000 miles on the GLC, 15,000 so far on the JL. The sounds of the engines really don’t bother me (but my hearing is not what it once was) because the performance is superior.
As to your question about the rear seat, I removed it on the first day and it’s been in the basement. Plenty of room for cargo for the two of us.

Along with the Gladiator we have a 2020 2dr sport with the 2.0 turbo and 2024 4dr Rubicon with the extreme 35 package.
The 4dr is a beast with all that the Rubicon and extreme packages give you. The 2dr with the turbo is a frigging hotrod. It's a blast to drive but like others have said the motor is extremely mechanically noisy. Hard to get used to.
Gladiator rides the best the 2dr worst. If you need a vehicle with room the 2dr isn't what you want.

Yep, we've got a couple in the family currently: '01 TJ on tons, '12 JKUR, '13 JK and '18 JKU. The '01 and the '12 get used, the other 2 JKs are our daughter's daily drivers. We must have raised em right. :)

My Wife had a '22 2-Door JLR with the turbo, and now she has a '24 JLUR 4XE. The turbo is great in these as far as power. The 2-Door with the top and doors off was like driving a go-cart.

Yep, 2019 JLU, wife's. I call it Rosita. Choose your trim for what comfort and features you want.

I absolutely HATED it!

Had the 4xe for 3 months. Just traded it for a 2025 JLU 2.0L. I like it just as much as my 2 door yellow one. I will admit though the 2.0L sounds like a busted tractor engine.

In addition to a diesel Gladiator, I have a JLU Rubicon with the 2.0 and a soft top, six speed, two door Wrangler with the 3.6. The six speed is definitely the most fun while the Rubicon 2.0 is by far the most capable and powerful. Even more so than the diesel. If you go with anything less than a Rubicon, I would highly recommend upgrading wheels and tires to something, anything adequate. As a Land Rover guy for 20 years, I never thought much about Jeeps. Now, since 2019, I am thoroughly impressed with Jeep capability and will never go back.
