As a Toyta FJ owner, C.R.A.W.L. is king of the hill in my book. Not only is it cruise control, but will also dig you out if you're buried to the axles. As a new Jeep owner, I was hoping they had this feature. I'm assuming the Jeep does not dig you out autonomously? Toyota also has A-TRAC which I believe is probably the closest to the Jeep version.

As far as I know only Rubicon has it - due to the lower transfer case low ratio. None of the other Gladiators have that control. Bummer.

Never mind - was thinking of Off Road+ button. Paying more attention to the cat than thinking.

Argh - was thinking of the [off-road+] button. That's what isn't present on the others.

That's what I was thinking ?. Like a crawl cruise control.
Correct, go into 4Lo push button then move gear selector over to manual mode. This is how you select the speed you want to maintain. Push the selector up to speed up and down to slow down.

I was wondering the same thing. On our Land Cruiser, beyond being a crazy noisemaker and very effective low speed off road "cruise control" over all sorts of terrain, it would dig the vehicle out of just about any traction-caused jam if you gave it enough time. I would imagine it would do the same (or better) on a JT.

Don't get me wrong the C.R.A.W.L control is badass.
But.....
A. Was the truck buried all the way to the frame? That was not sand it was more like crushed aggregate.
B. I can't believe that it would work in a similar situation in snow. You'd have to put something under the tires IMO.
Any opinions on that?

My 61 f100 had the same thing but we called it the choke. Pull it out a little in 4low just to bump the rpms up a little
And flood it with fuel and kick black smoke out the back?

This may be the coolest feature yet! Not glad they upgraded from the manual throttle control from original, but happy we have something...

If its a straight line under the Jeep it's Ascent and Descent Control. If it is angled it's Descent control only.
All you need to do is steer and shift gears in manual mode. .6 MPH speed increment per shift.
If you have a Mojave, look at your OFF ROAD PLUS button. Now that's some sweetness right there!
Rear Lockers in 4 HI, and custom shift points to keep you in the power curve. (For high speed off roading)

I've used it. It painfully slow. I understand that what it's supposed to do and it does it's job very well, but Most times I just work the brake myself.

The JK’s have a similar, hill descent button, we used it a lot on long slow downhills. I’m anxious to use this on our Gladiator, just haven’t been wheeling much

Rubies have it too, it’s a nice set-up and helps get wheel speed up in sand and snow!
