ordered with PnP. Will sort out possible AUX option when arrives (and less snow on the ground to work around).

I did not order the harness.
So my write up will be how I install to the back up signal and Aux switch.
And you bought the exact harness you linked on Amazon?

Just ordered with harness. Will probably also add to switch 4 or try to figure out how to integrate red fog lights with manual switch.

I am not even a little bit versed in electrical work. Can you have these lights (running and back-up) operate in tandem with the provided tail and back-up lights without using an aux switch?

Yes, these are just backup lights and red reflectors that mount in the bumper where the red reflectors currently sit. If you buy the extra harness, it is an easy connection. The existing and new backup lights will all come on when put in reverse. Unless you also want to be able to manually turn on the new backup lights, when not in reverse, nothing additional needs done.

Did they list anywhere what gauge wire to use on these? Want to make sure I have everything ready for an aux switch install.
If you are running 2 lines (LH/RH) up to the AUX switch then 18AWG is fine. If you are tying the 2 lights together and running one cable to the AUX switch use a min of 16AWG.

Is there any benefit to doing it one way or the other?

Not really, just a cleaner install. 2 less wires running from the back to front. I would think wiring them in together at the back would be better so you aren’t joining a total of 6 wires at the front.
