Yep, I did the finger measurement to my JT today and there is certainly a larger gap on the driver's side than passenger side. I can fit my pinky finger between the cabin and the rubber at the top on the driver's side. The gap closes the towards the bottom. The rubber is uniformly touching on the passenger side.
I don't think I have a bent frame, more like not quite lined up bed.
Yep. It's nothing. Great lesson on don't go looking for problems that aren't there. ( your post still made me feel better lol )

Our trucks aren't Veyrons. Or even Lexus. Remember their ball bearing on body lines? Yeah....that's not our trucks. Who cares. Never saw panel alignment improve off roading.

Reminds me of two kids caught fighting. You only get "their" version of the truth that suits them and not the actual details of what came to transpire.

Interesting - mine is mostly even on both sides and equal up and down. If it's off it's really minor.

So the question of the day is...if the beds are not being quite aligned precisely during assembly, is QA doing their job by passing these? Are these within standard tolerances?

What indicators other than this did @FullDraw_Overland use to determine he had a bend frame?

The issue with this thread is that he gives no real information on what really may of happened. Looking at his instagram the bed appears to be fine when he purchased it. He also indicates in the first thread that he only had certain items in the bed when it "happened". Which would lead most to think that he knows what caused the incident. He also seems to ride with a lot more weight than he stated in his original post ie, a Decked system, rooftop tent, roto packs, and gear. I am guessing, but looking through his instagram I would venture to say that he overloaded the truck. Hopefully the OP can clarify with more details, but if I was the dealership that is what my stance would be. Given how little information he has chosen to share.

Pic 1 brand new
Pic 2 bed to cab lines already askew
Pic 3 says 'Race Wars'

Who is good at measuring pictures? That truck is way lower loaded than new.
Rack 75-150 lbs. (alum vs. steel)
RTT 160 lbs.
Side awning 40? lbs
Gas can full 40 lbs
Decked system 205 lbs EMPTY
Tire carrier 65 lbs
Spare tire 90 lbs?
I am at ~ 700 lbs already without any gear. I see more crap strapped to that rack. I don't think that weight was the problem but #Racewars and #OffRoadShenanigans Tells is all.

Thank you @LowerSlower for giving us the clues.

@MyRight if it isn't yet, it will be.......

I don’t think you can count the spare (unless he was carrying a 6th wheel?). Otherwise that looks about right.

Demonstrates how limited the Gladiator is in cargo capacity. Doesn’t take much to add up to that weight quickly.

If that voids a warranty, we're all in trouble.
From a mechanical perspective, this kind of scraping should bend the bed in the opposite direction. I can't imagine this kind of a scrape bending the bed either way unless the bed was loaded to over capacity or the truck was jumped and slammed the hitch coming down - like driving off a loading dock...

When things happen and big ticket items that are needing expensive solutions to resolve, there is a propensity for people to look elsewhere on who is going to absorb the costs.

I think the guy was spit balling on making the premise of a warranty claim for something that normally does not become defective from normal use.

I noticed the exact same thing on mine. If you look down the side of the bed from behind and compare the 2 sides, you can see that the bed appears very slightly shifted toward the driver's side. However, after taking a bunch of measurements, the bed is centered and the entire cab is actually shifter toward the passenger side by about 1/8".

I actually got out my tools and I was about to loosen the body mount bolts to shift the cab when a little voice inside me said "you don't want to do this". I put the tools away.

I thought about the same thing, but yeah, decided that little bit of difference wasn't worth the trouble.
Normally, my OCD gets the best of me, but I'm doing my best to control it on this one.

I count the spare because he stated that it was mounted to a hitch carrier which would change leverage etc..

Maybe you have the only bent frame causing your bed to appear perfectly aligned.

Everyone else's frames are straight causing the misaligned bed to appear bent.

I stayed at a holiday inn express once.
