To me it seems pretty obvious…

He has a Wilco Hitchgate which I also have (for my F-350) and I can tell you that I can barely pick it up. I would guess maybe 150#?
then you add the weight of 37’s and a wheel maybe 125# for a total of about 275 pounds hanging WAY off the back of the truck.
Next you have a moron driving the Gladiator like he stole it and basically ran out of talent, goes over a small jump, gets airborne and lands very hard and voila!

BENT FRAME!

Some of you may remember the first gen Raptors had this issue and the second gen’s had several reinforcing plates added to the frame. These are not true desert runners.

Is anything but a purpose built vehicle from the ground up a pure desert runner?

Lets face it, most people that buy these specialty branded vehicles are posers who never leave the pavement and they still aren't that great at their theme out of the box...... They are getting better than they were in the 60's, but they are not even close to rock crawler/desert chase ready out of the box!

Yea that Wilco Hitchgate sticks really far away from the tailgate. Even my tire-carrier bumper doesn't stick that far out. That's a huge leverage point! Jeez.

But yea, couple with ignorance/negligence I can definitely see how this would happen lol

Well these idiots thought so…but even in a true built desert runner the spare tire is in the front of the bed not hanging out past the tailgate.

Are you aware of the the other bent frame incidents that look identical to this one? It’s a thing, when overloaded and pushed beyond reasonable parameters.

Didn’t read all five post pages but I’m going to go with overconfident operators misjudging terrain and vehicle capabilities.

Neither does my 2021 gas Rubicon.

I don't think that's factory...

Or maybe it was early on, and they realized it was a bad idea later? The whole shock mount looks different than mine too.

Mine looks like Nacho's picture.

In this picture. Where it's pointing at.

My early-year 2020 Sport S definitely has the notch. Since I don't tear around like an idiot, I'm not worried.

You have that little area where the blue arrow is pointing to?

Even though that notch is there I don’t see it making the frame bend in half unless you run these at high speed and overloaded.

There are too many trucks in the salt belt with massive rust holes in that area that don’t fold. I have repaired a few and those were channel frames.
