BFG ko2 35s or 37s

Hello fellow jeepers, I’m getting new tires for my Mojave and have decided to go with BFG ko2 but having a hard time deciding what size. These tires run on the lighter side on 37s and I know I’ll regret going from 33 to 35 in this same tire as it runs on the smaller side as well. However I go camping in the Sierra Nevada’s a lot and I take the 395 every time and I don’t want to be a slug with 37s going up hills. So basically I’m looking for the fellow people that have BFG ko2 in37 12.5 17 with the tow package as it has 410 gears as well to give me some feedback. I won’t have steel bumpers and the only other mods I have planned are some lights for night 4x4 and the bed Molle panel set from rough country, mabey a half rack but those aren’t really appealing to me. My guess is youll get a lot of push from people to go 37's

Do a forum search for the phrase " re gear" and youll see ENDLESS threads and discussions of those who love their 37s...then start looking at gears not long after.

2020 JTUR here - 37” KO2’s with stock gearing. Truck is mostly used on road - the 37’s run really small so I’d suggest going to those. FWIW, I have a Mopar 2” lift with 1.5” leveling spacers in the front. No rub at full flex or full lock

Would you do 37s without a lift either.

I did some research before and that’s why i stated BFG KO2 only, don’t want to do any other 37 since they are so Heavy. The BFG are supposed to run lighter and smaller than advertised, just mainly looking for someone with a stock rubi or Mojave with these exact tires so I can ask a few questions.

Sorry, you said stock and I heard “stock gearing” based on the rest of your post. You mean stock suspension?

@dcmdon yes I don’t want to do a lift, however I have found 1 inch spacers if I feel they are necessary.

@mjchip how was the power loss on the highway when you went 37s?

It was only minimally noticeable. Once I installed the Tazer mini to put the new tire size in, shifting pretty much went back to normal. My truck still runs in 8th gear (auto) on the highway. Mileage went down about 1 mpg. Road noise went down significantly.

BTW, I’m seriously thinking of moving up to the 39” KO2s now.

35 inch BFG on my Rubicon. Only have a 1 inch lift on front
