Have you tried Colorado Frame & Collision out of Denver?
I would have the frame repaired and discuss if they can reinforce it further.
TAking it to a frame repair shop in Farmington Monday. We're in Durango so it's a short hop.

We have five Gladiators in tour service, two in Moab. One of the Moab rigs has a broken frame on both side in a weird spot, right in the center of the upper bump stop cup bracket. You can see the bend by the gap between the bed and the body in the first pic. Second pic shows the crack on the inside of the passenger side of the frame, the cracks are same both sides, but worse on the passenger side outside of the frame.

Obviously the driver/guide hit a ledge or something too hard, bottomed it out with a load of guests in the back. Local shops say most likely we'll have to replace the entire frame. Has anyione else had this happen or heard of this? New one on me.

We have an ace welding shop here, guy that made our seating setup. He'd eat this up.

We're under GVW with a full load (8 passemgers). It's on the Mopar 2" lift/Fox shocks.
I notice the top is off, that gives some weight back. Isn’t payload though only like 1,100 on any not-max tow trucks? You gotta be close

Brad at Trailrecon had a video addressing this weak spot in the frame.
There is a guy I believe in the LA area that makes reinforcement brackets for that aria.
It is Shift auto works.

It looks like Brad will be in Moab on April 16th. Not sure.
I will also be there that week.

You're invited!
On Wednesday, April 16, join us for a night of free dinner, drinks, giveaway prizes, and fun as we take over the Sunset Grill restaurant in Moab during Easter Jeep Safari. No sign up needed. Just come on out, ready to have a good time. The party is from 6pm to 11pm so don't be late!

The two options I have found. I'm going with a combo of the two this week.

I’m referring to passengers. Six in back, two in back seat, plus guide/driver of course.

Retired. Beach bum.
First of does that have the Max Tow/Payload Package? If so then the GVWR with the Max is 6,250 lbs on a Sport like the white one in the picture. The curb weight is at least 4,650. The highest payload is 1,700. That seat rack hanging 2/3 off past the rear axle must weigh at least 250, a driver 200, that leaves you 1,250 lbs for 6 adults in the rear. Where your running into trouble is while you’re barely under the GVWR, it’s the distribution of the weight! I suggest in the future you fill the passengers from the front passenger seat back, filling the back seat with three, then in back just behind the cab with only two more adults. Leaving the way back for passengers under 140 lbs max each. After you have fixed the frame. With certified welding experts, with a small bit of reinforcement, keeping weight as low as possible. To the point of mounting the spare in front somehow. Or tow a small utility trailer with spares a supplies.

Yes, 8x an average weight of 185lbs equals...
1480, not including the seats/Cage and driver/passenger. Most likely over gvwr.

We are right at 1725 GVWR with driver & cage factored in. We considered all this early on which is why wew went for the Max Tows. Low speeds should be OK, I think our issue here is some "overzealous" driver/guides and ledges. 😉

Frame reinforcement going to be a next winter project. Might also consider air shocks, which we have on our JK & LJ.

I would think, the GVWR pertains to 1-G driving on pavement. Anytime you go offroading, and start putting a dynamic load on the truck, you’ll be pushing more than 1725lbs on that frame. Hit a ledge at speed and you’re slamming a hellofa lot of force on that frame.

Out tours are scenic, non-technical. Low stress on guests & vehicles.
